XXLGaming will host a King Crab Series and an Opilio Crab Series using the Xbox Live online capabilities of the game. You must have an Xbox Live Gold account in order to be able to participate. Each series will have a weekly scheduled event in which you must participate in order to earn Series Standings points. The Captain with the most Series Standings Points at the end of the season will be crowned the Series champion.
We are looking at 2 nights currently. Monday Nights will be our King Crab Series. And Wednesday Night will be the Opilio Crab Series. We skipped Tuesday, due to that being the night the show is on. Thursday may be used for a team event once the singles series are established.
You'll have 4 different time slots avilable to sign up for. Pick the one that best suits you. The times will be:
8:30PM EST (5:30 PM PST)
10:30 PM EST (7:30 PM PST)
12:30 AM EST (9:30 PM PST)
2:30 AM EST (11:30 PM PST)
You will select from one of those times when signing up for the event each week. Once you have signed up for the event, you will automatically be placed into the host room that has the first available slot. We will be fishing 6 boats to a room. Be sure to check the event details to see who your room host is going to be and add them to your friends list.
As stated, you will earn Series Points for your overall placing in the event standings once everyone has fished. Those points will will accumulate through the season, and the Captain with the most points at the end of the season will be deemed our Champion. Our event leaderboards work in real time, so nothing is official until all stats have been entered for the event which will not be til at least 3:30 AM EST (12:30 AM PST) on any given event night. You will see the leaderboard change as new results are input by the hosts as they finish up their rooms.
WHAT STATS ARE TAKEN FOR THE LEAGUE?
As of right now our thought is to take your overall weight and award series points for only that category. IF the game displays the largest pot brought in for each boat, we will use that statistic as well. Once online statistics displayed are confirmed we will anounce the scoring system and post it for all to see.
In our previous fishing league points were awarded for toal weight, total length (not applicable in this case) and largest fish. Hopefully the largest fish statistic can be replaced by a largest pot statistic.
SIGNING UP FOR AN EVENT
Each week you will be required to sign up for the upcoming event or events if you participate in both Series. A button will be displayed under the Event Picture in the left hand border and all you have to do is click it and select the time you want to fish. Thats it. Easy as pie. Just be sure to take note of who your room host is, and add them to your friends list.
WHAT DOES THE SERIES CHAMP RECEIVE?
Our first King Crab Series champion will receive an autographed copy of the game sign by Captain Sig Hansen himself. Currently this is the only monetary valued prize planned for any series. For all other seasons, we will be sending a champion's award certificate to the winner that they can proudly display, or use as kindling in the fireplace. If prizes are offered to us in the future for more champions, than we will offer them up as well. (CrazyCougar is ineligible for any prizes, and if the case arises that I was to win a series, the prize would go to the second place person.)
