My face has been itchy, red, irritating, and very tight around my mouth. This started last week when the right corner of my mouth developed a cold sore. I kept putting vaseline on that area and that spread down to the other side of my mouth and chin. Now the entire area has the irriatating, itchy, tight, red feeling. I can barely open my mouth. If I do not put water on it, the corners of my mouth seems to be glued shut! I cannot open my mouth wide enough to eat. I can only open it as wide as a french fry. I am worried that even after the antibiotics and medication I am prescribed to use, I will not be able to open and smile like I use to. I am not even sure these prescriptions will work! Only seems to be getting worse! I cannot sleep at night without having to wake up and try to open my mouth, but by doing that, my skin cracks because of my tight and dry skin. Should I stop using the ointment and pill I was prescribed to use?
