Are there any alternatives to exorcism?
What is the best explanation someone can give me for the difference between a ghost, and a poltergeist? How dangerous can poltergeists get?

Thank you.

A ghost is a spirit of a human being that was once alive as has decided to remain attached to the physical.

A poltergeist is psychic energy from an individual thats released during stressful and emotional times that takes on a life of its own.

According to psychics, poltergeists usually desipate in a month or two.

Thats messed up.
I have been haunted before but by harmless ghost and it was only for a short time. Yet I was wondering what would happen if it got worse(they only moved stuff around) such as what I call the "three claws" ( ive seen it a few times its when someone wakes up and has 3 large claw marks on there face, chest, or stomach)

Also I knew that a poltergeist is different but ive heard that its a type of entity and that its a type of force

Thats demonic. Your only option is an exorcism.

Yes but what if you are an athiest? Are you basically saying exorcism or deal with it?

You can try cleansing rituals. But you have believe in them put your whole heart into them.

Can you be an atheist and believe in ghosts? Kinda seems contradictory to me.

An atheist in need of a full scale demonic exorcism is grounds for one of the biggest I-told-you-so's in history. It is a basic law of physics, that every force has another force opposing it, the same applies in religion. You can't believe that demons walk the earth without also believing that a God does the same and is empowering others to do His work against demons.

I don't think a cleansing ritual would work if it has moved from opression to possession. After the demon gets inside some one, you need a more "invasive" procedure to remove it. Cleansing rituals only work when the bugger's still on the outside.

I agree with you Epona, if Barkwhisker believes in ghosts, than that means he believes in after life, so how can he be a "true" atheist??? Confused

I know, I was trying to give some hope since being an atheist, he really has none.

Ditto Deb.
If one force is acting up, then there has to be an opposing force. Christ vs. Devil.

Yuppers! Choose wisely GRASSHOPPER. LOL!

Bark welcome to the world of the unknown and to the world of the Light. You chose which way you go..

The Light of Christ would NEVER have to leave a mark on your body. Darkness of course, would! Keep us updated and feel free to ask additional questions. We've all been thru most. Wink

Let's head you in the right direction. Smile

The Light of Christ leaves a mark on your soul. The darkness mess, tries to make you worry by making subtle marks on your physical body and your mental.
Christ already claimed your soul. SO the only thing left is to scare or intimidate you is your mental well being. But Christ claimed that as well.
Are things going to disappear and never come back? Of course not! It is not guaranteed. God wants your co-operation. Are you going to do it? Let us know what you decide.
We have ALL been in your situation. Ask us what we have done. Would love to tell you my story but ONLY if you ask...

No because a ghost is just a soul that is looking for something. Just because there is an afterlife does not mean that there is or is not a god.

Another reason this is not true is because if you are all here you probably each have your own ghost story right? So there is proof of the ghosts. However I have not been given any proof of a god yet. In this case it's not about what you believe, it's what you know exists.

That's too bad because without faith, there's no hope. God is your only solution to rid yourself of this demonic presence in your life. Your decision seems to be made as to your beliefs. As cold as this may sound, I don't see your situation getting any better unless you acknowledge God in your life and asked for our heavenly fathers intervention.
