i've been reading cemetary angel's post--and wanted to add my own experience to the board. before i get to the actual ouija experience, i wanted to give you a little backgrond.
this happened in january of 2001.
i reside in the u.s., but my native country is in europe. i often travel back to my country to visit family and friends, and i had just returned to the u.s. from overseas, when i first experienced the ouija board.
just a few days before my return trip to america, a childhood friend of mine, Edmond, had also just traveled back to our home country, from germany. i didn't know he was due to return around the same time and was very happy and surprised to see him and catch up. now, the circumstances of our meeting were a bit unsual, and important, for the sake of the story.
i had been hanging out with friends all evening, and took a taxi home. at the exact moment of getting outside of the taxi, the city experienced a blackout, and it was startling and creepy. out of the dark, i heard a disguised voice, trying to sound deep and scary, that said: "i dare you to cross this dark path!" i got freaked out, only to realize that it was my friend edmond--we were also neighbors. so, we laughed, and he made fun of me getting all scared, etc, and hung out the next day. and the day after that he drove me to the airport.
the day after i returned to the u.s., i went to visit another childhood friend of mine who lives in the same city that i do, in the u.s. she is also friends with edmond...we all pretty much grew up together. anyway, she was waiting for me at the subway station and as soon as i saw her i could tell that there was something terribly wrong.
she told me that edmond had died that morning. he was 27.
i sat down, on the ground. and started crying. i kept asking her if she was sure. i had just seen him a mere two days before! but it was true. allegedly, he had in a car accident, on his way back to germany. this was the story his family was told anyway.
so, we went to my friend's house, and on her kitchen table i found a ouija board. i had never touched one of those things. and to be quite frank, i didn't even believe that they actually worked! i was tempted, nevertheless.
so we sat down on the ground, lit some candles and closed our eyes for a bit and meditated. she asked me if there was anyone i would like to call. i thought maybe i could talk to my grandfather who died when i was real young. the indicator started moving immediately. the first question my friend asked was "how many years has it been since you died?" the indicator went to the number 9. i had to stop and do the calculations in my head because i didnt know at the top of my head. sure enough, it was 9 years! this sent chills up my spine. but still, it could be a coincidence, i thought. i then asked the him what was the nickname i used for him. the board spelled "babush."
i did call him that! this was unbelieavable. but still, i thought, perhaps i am doing this subconsciously. i talked a bit more with my "grandfather" and we said goodbye. as we sat there, crossed-legged and pondering on who to call next, we, my girlfriend and i, were jsut giving each other knowing looks. "are you thinking what i'm thinking?" she asked me. "yes." i responded.
we called edmond.
the information we got was truly startling. at first the indicator was just going crazy all over the board, without stoping anywhere. and then, it started to pause on the letters O and H or A and H. we took this as great dispear on his side. then we asked his age, country etc, and the answers were all true--however, remember my friend knew edmond as well, so she could have been moving the indicator herself! so, i asked him what were his exact, first words to me, when we first met in the alley. i hadn't told my friend the encounter yet. the board spelled: "i dare you to cross this path." this blew me away. my friend then asked him how did he die? the answer shocked us!
the board spelled "shot in the head." my friend and i just stared at each other. again, the indicator started pausing at O and H, like he was moaning. "by whom?" we asked. the board spelled the name of his live-in, german girlfriend. this sounded too surreal. "why" we asked. "drugs," said the board.
this was truly shocking. he had not mentioned any drug use or problems to me. he had not mentioned any problems with his girlfriend either. we were baffled.
we asked if there was anyone else involved. the board spelled "freddy." freddy was his best friend, as well as former roomate in germany. after revealing this information, he said "tell mom." and started crying again--indicator stopped at O and H, or A and H. over and over and over and over. until it just stopped.
we put the board away and were way too shaken up and emotionally spent to experiment with it again. we pondered on whether we should say something or not. i mean, it was clear he wanted us to do something, but it was too huge of an accusation without having any sort of proof.
my mom, who's also good friends with edmond's mother, revealed this information to me when i called her about a week after having used the ouija board. she said than upon arrival of edmond's parents in germany, the story of his death had changed drastically. freddy, who had picked them up at the airport, told them that he had actually been shot in the back of his head, while he was looking out of his bedroom window, by his girlfriend. he hadn't seen it coming. this made me severely sad. freddy said that he didn't want to tell them the truth over the phone, because he thought it would be too painful for the parents, hence, the car accident story. he then kept insisting that he didnt know why she would shoot him or that she even had a gun.
after hearing this, my entire body was covered in chills. i couldnt believe it. i told my mom about my ouija experience. she said that edmond's parents were in germany and had hired a private investigator to solve their son's murder.
in the end, after three-four months of investigation and results of his autopsy, it was revealved that he had a huge amount of hard drugs in his system before he died. and that he was basically a victim of a drug deal gone wrong. freddy left germany, and til this day no one knows of his whereabouts. edmond's gf claimed that she was under the influence when she shot him, and that he was abusive to her and cheated on her. edmond wasn't a citizen of germany and this worked to his disadvantage. basically, his parents weren't able to afford a lawyer, and they were simply appointed a state lawyer, who was very weak, to say the least. the state's attitude was basically: we're gonna protect our citizen and not waste much time on a foreigner who cunducted illegal activity in our country.
i think the girl either got very little prison time, or had to undergo intense therapy, or some b.s. like that.
every single word of this story is absolutely true. thanks for reading, all.
