Well jmiller2. I would suspect out ghost hunting team would be televised, sponsored by a major label. More than a few of us members have called us the "fruit salads" only because we come from a variety of beliefs and experiences. By the way, I have dibs on the fruit of the loom grape costume....(just in case of a misunderstanding )
I personally dont jump at noises because I have been experiencing paranormal since pre teen. I guess I am used to it. Better yet, I have my faith that allows me to face the enemy or spirit or demon with spiritual confidence. I can say my buddies have a similiar belief. How about yourself?
I would call ourselves; The Truth Finders. I could use the word "seekers" but we are not seeking the truth. We have experienced the truth. We do not need to seek. That part (seeekers) has been proven.

You are so going to laugh! I hope... I have heard almost every noise possible, I believe. When I hear them, I ignore them. I am used to them. Example; Yesterday I heard a very loud "SHHH!" In my left ear while I was watching Maury Povich. I looked at my dog to the right cause he was making noise. As soon as I turned my head, this loud "SHHHH!" almost spit (it felt like spit) in my ear! I thought one of my kids did this. But alas, no muchachos/muchachas. (?)
I think I have the spirit of discernment. I dont want it but its here. At least I can protect my children and family if possible. Once I almost lost my belief and faith in God/Jesus because of this predicament. Ask I will tell. Dont ask, I wont tell. I cant change the past.
I ask because I've seen my share of hauntings and testamonials, and they all share the same pattern. Most of the time people who experience hauntings and paranormal do so because they attract these situations.
Now before you hit me over the head with a huge anvil telling me I'mn nuts for saying so, let me explain. There are number of reasons of "why you."
Theres the Law of Attraction. Psychologist say that we attract situations and experiences that are equivelent to our mental images and thoughts.
Maybe you are a gifted psychic, as ghosts and spirits and known to be attracted to people with ESP abilities.
Most of the time, spirits and ghosts are already there, and only until our psychic abilities develop do we trully begin to percieve their phenomenon.
The lists goes on, but you get my drift.
I think mostly your case is cause of the latter. You've seen the episode with Mr Gordy and the little girl? Thats the first thing I thought when you mentioned experiencing stuff since your teens.
We are given a gift no one else has. I believe I have many. Dont Laugh. I love the elderly people. I have worked with geriatrics. I love children. I have worked with them. I do not have patience with disobedient adults. This is my special gift. What is yours?
Boy, you all are up late too. I have a good friend whose husband is really into this stuff too. He and I get into discussions about this. Well, anyway he thinks that ghosts or spirits exist everywhere and that some people are just sensitive to this, and that it's not one particular spirit, but many and certain people are able to pick up on them. Mooch, do you think that is what you are like or do you think it is something specific?

As for a gift, well I'm empathic to some degree. But my real gift is art. I love everything about it. I love all art..painting, dance, martial arts, crafting..its all me.

The poltergiest was the cause of the teen girls "growing into puberty?" BALONEY. I have been a teen girl and our emotions are not that strong that we would summon our own "entity". I have my own teen girl and she is not being dragged up a stair case or locked out of my reach. Yes she is scared because of what she has seen and heard but I teach her confidence from the bible. Excuse if I teach out of your beliefs but I am using an example.

Mooch, you mentioning girls, puberty, and ghosts reminds me of a Waltons episode about that same thing. I haven't seen that for years, but it was something to do with the youngest daughter coming of age and something paranormal going on in the house. That movie American Haunting was creepy. That girl screaming just bothered me very much.

Well let me tell you a funny story.
In my house I see tall dark shadows flying past me or any one else in the house. EVERYONE see's this black shadow. But I see small shadows darting down my hallway. 4 feet tall at the most. My dog will growl at my bedroom door and patio door. He usually likes the warm sun from the patio door but most times, he'll growl. ANYWHOOO.. Speakng of mr gordy, my kids have spoken of ppl names they didnt know before. Confused as if this person was asked for. On phone, front door etc.. One night I was up late (like now) and my oldest son was cavorting the neighborhood as usual. I tried to get him home by telling him that the police was looking for his friend. Get home ASAP! The only name I could come up with was Seth. My son said he didnt know a Seth. The next night I watched one of those ghost shows and the demon from the ouija board called himself seth. P'eeed my pants.

Actually, that's based on proven science. Our emotions are powerful energies, Mooch.
Think about it. The will to survive is a powerful emotion in itself..
