I don't think this is even possible, but the myth goes as follows. Someon stole a booster rocket used to assist transport planes such as the C-130 launch off short runways and strapped it to a car somewhere in a remote location. The car went so fast that it launched the vehicle off the road and drove it into the side of a mountain. Someone noticed the wreckage which was embedded into the mountain. When the wreckage was inspected it was found the drive had tried to stop the car with the brakes, but the brakes had melted and fused to the rotors. Could you even strap a booster onto a car and propel it in this way?

Indeed. I was just thinking the same thing. It was covered in their pilot episode.

There would be little point in having a booster rocket on a New York cab unless of course it also had some sort of levitation feature. Having more than once been stuck on Sixth Avenue in midtown, that sounds really appealing.
