I think if you want to create good TV, you should team rank strangers from completely different backgrounds and walks of life together, and see how they can make out. Overcoming differences to work together for survival would be better watching than petty family squabbles, or lover's quarrels. Not overcoming them, may make even better watching. Great show, if there is a casting call, I hope you make it accessible to your loyal watchers.

CBS already has a show like that, and it is full of petty squabbles and lovers quarrels.

i want to do a show like this .the biggest reason i stopped watching survivor is that it is about playing a game not survival. i hope the people on this show learn something about what it takes to push through anything to stay alive.
why are they allways moaning about how much weight they've lost ? let me on a show like this i could afford to lose 100lbs. please let some real country folks on future shows so they can show real life experience at work.
i can hunt & fish too .i can even dress out the game without pukeing.

LOL, I know folks with years of experience who still puke from the smell of a punctured intestine or stomach. Big Grin

I do too, and I always try to be very helpful and understanding of their discomfort, and never tease....NOT!

The reason I like this show is because it is really about surviving, and not about winning "challenges", and Machiavellian maneuvering to win. That CBS show does more to pit the people against each other...I think this show would do more to show people the lengths to which they may go to cooperate for mutual benefit.

I have always enjoyed the "group dynamics" of the CBS show, but yeah, putting strangers together would make for an interesting second season.

Perhaps one group could be two families; a second group could be half a dozen strangers. Now take one of the families and half of the strangers group and send them to the other camp.

Survival, as in a short term attempt to get out of a wilderness emergency or a long term attempt to live in the wilderness, depends on cooperation between the people involved. That is why "Survivor" and knock-offs have nothing to do with survival. All they are are highly manipulated conflicts, a larger-scale cage match. What you want is a modern gladiatorial match, which has nothing to do with survival, and which would not be of interest to Discovery Channel. The suggestion of moving people around between camps is hilarious. That would violate any concept of hard wilderness living or short term survival. That is more like a little kid playing with dolls or toy soldiers.
