My betta fish is very sick. I had 2 male bettas in a 2.5 gal tank with a divider. I clean the tank every week & feed them once a day. They seemed very happy until last week. I have a red betta and a blue betta. The blue betta started looking different. His fins look like they are rolling up, and it looks like he has white patches on his body. I also noticed that he looks very skinny. He still swims around and acts happy, he just looks bad. The other day the red betta jumped into the blue bettas side of the tank & the red betta might have attacked him, so i took the blue betta out and put him in a smaller tank. He seems to be doing a little better, and the red betta looks completely fine. Does anyone know what is wrong with the blue betta and should i be worried about the red betta?
Now I am no fish expert by any means - but I do own three bettas right now (2 males and a female) and have had many through out the years. I think it was a very good idea to put them in separate tanks. Hopefully, they are now in separate fresh clean tanks. I am not sure what may be wrong with your Blue betta, I have never seen that happen before. But whatever it may be, if it can be passed on to other fish, I would watch your other Betta carefully and see if anything changes. If you're really truely worried you could go ask your local pet store (obviously, one who carries betta fish) and ask them what they think - you could even bring the fish in. Now I know that all of the people aren't super knoledgeable but they may know something you, or I, or anyone on here doesn't know.
