By I dont know who,He is still alive and quarantined...... will his tail grow back,or should we give up on him

hard to say, i dont know what he looks like...

does he still swim around ok, or is he floating..

add some aquarium salt to the water in the amount to treat infection.

Hi sullybaby.
He can swim a little but mainly he hangs in the water,He is feeding well and doesnt seem to be ill,just his tail is chewed to bits.have added salt.Just wondered if his tail fin will regrow in time thanks.

it should, as long as his tail wasnt chewed past the base of the tail. if it hasnt it will regrow, if it has, it will probably heal up as is.

Thanks for your help Sully,Will leave him to see if he survives fingers crossed.How long should I isolate him for.I cant see it growing back quickly. Thanks again

until all redness goes away, also, when his habits have returned to normal, like normal swimming behavior, etc.
