there is no way she would be able to keep a 2.5 gallon marine aquarium.

coolfar1234, you are feeding your fish too much. only feed your fish once daily, and only what they can consume in 5 minutes. all the extra food that is left from overfeeding your fish is destroying your tank. it puts too many nutrients in the water making your tank turn green. also, i assume it is making the water quite cloudy due to the increase in bacteria.
if you continue the way you are feeding your fish, they will most likely aquire some sort of illness and most likely die at some point in time.

im not sure how much 2.5 gallons is i only no measurements in litres. you'll also need to do small water changes on your tank occassionly. and sullybaby27 is right, your feeding them way to much

well, i have a twenty gallon goldfish tank, and if its anything like it,well, there messy. first of all, dont feed ur fish so muh, i have 3 tanks set up in my house. all of them are different. my goldfish tank is super messy, my brackish water tank is very clear, and my marine tank is somewhat cloudy. in order to keep my goldfish tank clean, i usually mix black and white carbon to clear water and remove amonia, but ur filter is prob. very small, im sure that if u dont feed so much, your tank will be alot cleaner. what kind of fish do u have anyway?

OK. WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING?!?! 3 fish in an almost 3 gallon tank? MAX OVERFLOW OF AMMONIA!!! Get a bigger tank and all is well.

Hi there. Okay first of all how many fish do you have in your tank? The "rule" is 1 gallon per inch. So if you only have a 2.5 gallon tank and large fish that is a problem. I would recommend getting at least a 5 gallon tank, its perfect for beginners and is rather small. Secondly, you should only be feeding your fish once a day. As much as they can consume in 2-3 minutes. You are feeding them to much which is causing them to poop more and cause all the smell and such. Also, when you clean your tank, you should NEVER empty all the water out. For your size tank all that you should be doing is emptying out about 20% of your water bi-weekly. Also to get the "gunk" out from the gravel in your tank consider buying a siphon or even making one. Lastly, your fish that stays away from the rest of them is probably sick. As previously stated, you are feeding them too much.

Good luck with

The cloudyness could be coming from the rocks. Make sure that in a new tank you rinse the rocks thoroughly before adding them to the aquarium, this will remove the powder that causes a "cloudy effect" in the aquarium.

hi, i'm part of a network of fish enthusiasts and of course, this is a serious topic of discussion among us. Basically, there are so many different ways to keep a tank clean, whether with proper PH levels, proper feeding technique, plant life or even live clean up crews. there is so much to discuss and so much is dependent on your particular setup. you have to do a lot more research before you put money into this beautiful hobby
