I recently got 4 guppies. I am not sure if they will breed or which are female or male or if they are just different breeds. I have 2 orange guppies and two grey guppies with small blue tails. I am so confused! I just want to breed them! It didn't say on the tags outside the tanks if they were male or female or a mix. It just said fancy guppies 3.99

If your guppies all look "fancy" chances are they are all male. the females tend to be alot less colourful. to tell for sure look at the bottom fin. If the bottom fin in more "pointy" then it is a male. If they are more "rounded" then it is a female. also, the female will have a dark spot on the underside of her belly called a gravid spot. if she is pregnant this gravid spot will be really dark.

Male and female guppies are really easy to tell apart. The males have brightly colored bodies, and huge flowing tails that are very colorful. They are also smaller then the females. The females in contrast are very plain looking, with maybe just a bit of color on their tail fin. They are also much larger then the males, and usually have bloated bellies because they are pregnant almost all the time.
