I found a web site that says that I should do a 20% water change each day until the babies are born. Should I heat the fresh water prior to putting it in so that the tank temperature doesn't drop? If so can I heat it in the Microwave or should I use a pot on the stove. Also, how do I know when she's due to have them, she's turned very aggressive toward the other fish (2 guppies,2 neons & a bumble bee goby)which I thought was due to the fact that the Neon Dwarf Gourami had just died which made her the biggest fish in the tank! Now I'm wondering....... I also only have a 10lt (2.5 gallon) tank, is this big enough for her?

If you want to use the 2.5 gal tank as a hospital tank, this would work fine. Just be sure to take the water from your current tank to set up the 2.5 gal tank. Mollies have a gestation period of about 32 days, but it sounds like she'll be ready pretty soon. When the babies are born, or before, be sure to cover any opening the filter may have so the babies dont get sucked into it. you can cover it with one leg cut off of a pair of stockings and a rubberband.
and about heating the water, how ever you want to heat it would be fine, AS LONG AS it is the same temp as the water that is currently in the tank. changing the temp too much can kill them, even tho it doesnt seem like too much to us. like more than 3-5 degrees can harm and kill many species of fish.
hope this helps.

Is it normal for her to have a huge appetite? She's eating 4 - 5 times as much as she normally would.

Yes eating more is normal. Don't give her too much that could hurt the fry. Also in your hospital tank have alot of plants, fish will eat their own fry! Good luck. Big Grin

If you dont have a seperate tank you can buy a little "isolation chamber" for your molly before she gives birth.I did that for mine but after she gives birth you have to take the adult out or she will eat the babies.Once the babies have gotten fairly big yuo can put them in with the rest of the fish, but be careful because they are smaller bigger fish may be tempted to try molly fries Wink

if she let "nature take its course" she wouldnt have any babies.
shadowtheblack lab- do you know that mollies eat their own young??
And if you really want nature to take its course, maybe you should just let them go in their natural environment, because nothing about aquarium life in a small tank is remotely natural.
