Did you know that the Carlos in season 1 is the real one?And the one in seasons 2-3 was a male named JD.

I'm not sure there was ever a Lazuli male named Carlos-- most of the early roving scenes were of a male called Bobby. Later JD was also used, and he was Carlos for all of season 3.
I think all of the rovers filmed were at least from Lazuli. Later compilation rovers like Wilson were even given the wrong natal group!

The name changes are very confusing. I wouldn't mind if they would just do it once, but they keep using different names for the same kats! Many old fans found the s4 changes confusing and upsetting. I was freaking out when Simon supposedly died, not only because he died but because I already had my book and had very little idea who he was. I wanted to know! Seacrest confused the heck out of me because they said he was three years old, which would have made him born around season 1. There was no meerkat named Seacrest in season 1! I was wondering where the heck all these kats I had never heard of were coming from, and worried because some of my favorite pups had never been mentioned again. For some reason I never put it all together until I came to this board.

Oreocreme, there appears to be no additional info on Nequoia, there must have been no opportunity to scan for ID's yet, maybe due to the perhaps nervous nature of wild members in the group or as a new group they probably are not visited much yet.
Rhogan Josh appears as a regular rover at Jaxx, I think he must be living in a wild group as a subordinate somewhere close to Jaxx. The fact he no longer roves with Machu-Picchu could mean either Machu is dead or he is the DM of this (or another) group and does not need to rove.. RJ seems to be roving with 'UNK' who could be the wild/PK male he roved with last time, I think these two males must have stuck together for some time and formed/joined another group.
'UNK' could at a push, be Machu-Picchu as the term 'UNK' is 'unknown' even if this male has scars on his face, they would only confirm his identity via a scan for his IDchip, maybe they could not get close. Often if it's a wild male that is encountered it is called 'wild' 'UNK' could be an habituated male who was just not identified.
Both RJ (ex Whiskers/Lazuli/PK/ChuckleBros) and Piripichio (ex Drie Doring) where seen at Jaxx after a long period of absence and where only identified by their ID chip. They could even live together(?)

"Seacrest" was portrayed by Tosca's sons Jogu, and Flava Flav.
zaphod-vvm032
Do you think that Rhogan Josh is with the remnants of PK, or with another wild group? The wild male that he roves with could be a "remnant" of the PK.

Zettak,
the thought has occured to me before that PK could still be around or indeed certain members could have teamed up with other individuals, and as sophie711 & vwf053 have pointed out, atleast one female of the group was probably of breeding age. Machu, the 'older man' could be in with a reasonable chance as her mate - Zaphod, everyone is pretty sure of now is Maybellines breeding partner and he probably babysat her as a pup so I don't think age counts for much in the desert.
PK would not be the first group to be reduced to almost nothing and then be reformed with other kats, Hoppla, Kungfu, even Whiskers have been reduced to a handful of inexperienced youngsters and still Succeded (when possible)
It was a shame Machu did not keep that Radio collar..

The problem is that they give up on the groups to easily the Zappa were down to 5 members so they just decided not to follow them anymore because they moved further away. What if they did followed the Zapa even for 2-3 more months? What if Tonic found the Zappa or Wild males joined? The Zappa could be very much alive just now more of a wild group. While it seemed hopeless The Commandos could still be out there for a while especially with the Wild males... while most individuals are marked with disease like I mentioned before the Lazuli was badly marked by disease they are the only group to survive with a group with tb that bad to acually survive. I do hope Machu is still out there they should of atleast stayed with the splinter to find out who the subadults were there was a lot of commotion of weather that might of been Beaker. Who knows maybe PK is Nequoia? While it would mean a definite territory change while Evi mentioned that a majority of the group seems tolerable of humans. I was thinking maybe some of them missing Elveera that disapeared a while back? Habusu? Lambert? Other members from missing groups around the area frisky females went missing a while back as well as maybe the moomins females from the splinter group a while back? maybe they were evicted and met up with wild males. These are just some sugestions becuase the time meerkats went missing and the group forming could be the answer i dont think it could be Habusu now thinking about it He disapeared in late 2007 i dont know though.

Seacrest was not a real meerkat he was made up the merkats that played seacrest were Flava Flav and Jogu Mozarts kids.

Flava Flav and Jogu were Tosca's, not Mozart's pups.

There is a possibility that Ash, and his mini Elveera coalition are in the Nequoia (if they are still alive). They roved to the Kung Fu, and the Commandos before they were last seen. The Nequoia are close to the Kung Fu territory.

Bobby, and JD were Lazuli males. I don't think there was a Carlos Lazuli.

It would be very exciting if Ash and the other Elveera males were in Nequoia. Any reappearing habituated kat is a cause for celebration, but with what is happening at Elveera now several former members back in the area would be especially great news. Maybe by next month there will be a clearer picture of who is in the group. Although we will have to wait some time for a full name list, with all the members. The DM was missing at the end of last month.

This is really a reach, but some of the Nequoia could be former Commandos males. They would be back near their old home territory. Most likely they were part of a group like Java and do not have ID chips. But we can hope.

The groups pages have been at least partially updated; I haven't checked the other mobs yet but Hoppla are now among the lost groups. The description confirms that they had TB.
Rest in peace J. Alfred Prufrock, Bernard, wild females and young pups. I wish we could have gotten to know you better.

THe rest of the page is the same. It was only last updated for June 30 and it is usually about every three months. Blondie is still listed as the Rascals Df, though she was last seen in July.

Presumably Shaka Zulu, Bash, and Bosh (Lazuli) of the Hoppla died of TB as well, but earlier. The first group of possibly evicted Nutters females died of TB too.

Most meerkats are dieing of TB for some reason.

The Nutters were last seen due to TB. The Baobab, and the last seen Hoppla occupy their territory.

A random side note on the Cloud story-- one of the horses in the population followed by Ginger Katherines (I doubt I'm spelling that right) is an extremely old mare named Grumpy! She reminds me of the old Moomins lady.
Her full name is Grumpy Grulla, and she is 21. That is a good age for a domestic horse, much less a wild one. I hope we get to see her in the new docu. I hope even more her old legs can tolerate being run into the pens, because she is slated to be removed. The world doesn't need to lose two Grumpies this summer.

Welcome to the burrow Southpaw08.
I joined the meerkat burrow. I think a real international petition for more meerkats is a great idea.

Vwf053, with Nequoia's Dominant Male missing at the end of the month.. sounds like yet another viable welcome mat for the Whiskers coalation led by Nugget! considoring it's not really the heart of roving season yet, the little gang seem to have a decent amount of options here. I can not wait to see if they have settled anywhere in the next LH.

The Nequoia are not a small group, but we don't know their composition. They might have younger members, and it could be easier for rovers to infiltrate them.
Thank you for joining us. Our membership is growing. Zaphod-vvm032, you could join too. It's an open group. What happened to Nazareth Dodo? Does he post on the FKMP?

Hmm.. I don't use facebook, my other half does though, Ill look into it - is it the same group as what Evi mentioned a while ago or is it different?
Nazerethdodo post on FKMP sometimes.

Let's just say that Facebook is not a top priority for me either. I created a Facebook account because of this group. It's not Evi's group, it's a different one. Some FKMP members belong to it.

Zettak, Hooray! another person (i'm up to 3 now including me) who does not see the point in Facebook.. I will certainly look into that.
I would never open my own account because (sounds petty) I would be sourced by the idiot's I work with.. people in work annoy me, when I go home I don't want to even think of work.. they go home onto FACEBOOK just to talk about work! then come into work and talk about, yes.. FACEBOOK! I do not understand the point.. another thing people often say is
"would'nt you like to try and meet some old school friends on facebook and see what they are doing now?"
erm.. no, not really.. I was not really interested in them when I was at school so what do I want to know what they are doing now for (?)

I like people in this forum. We have similar interests. This way we can keep in contact in the future too. But I guess I don't care about some people from high school that we had absolutely nothing in common.

What is the group called then and I will have a look?
Zettak, have you ever thought of joining FKMP? you would certainly not regret it. The burrow really lacks regular posters along with people who enjoy the 'what if' side of things, with the amount of additional info over there and the much more action packed pages-long LH reports to sift through, im sure you would like it.
Carlos, hats off to anyone who enjoys facebook, if it's their thing.. I just find the concept of for example (true) someone in work who has never spoken to me in 8 years of working together randomly coming up to me saying they had a look at my wedding photos! ill look into it and learn that my other half is friends with some girl who is friends with another girl, who is married to some bloke who is friends with the person I work with! and im like... "and you are?"
Big brother is watching you....?

We are preparing something (we are going to post about it here, and in other forums soon) in Meerkat Burrow. This is the main reason for the creation of the group. We are not sure for how long AP is going to keep this forum open either, especially since MM was de facto cancelled.

Additionally, AP sometimes closes threads for various reasons. vwf053 posted threads about a herd of wild horses (Mustangs) that is being removed from its habitat. They were deleted. There is a thread in the MB discussion board about this subject now.

I joined Facebook because some of my family are on and they leave messages for me; but I find it a bit silly, as they can e-mail me. I would think the best part of FB is that you can post announcements and pictures for your 'friends' to see and not have to e-mail them separately, or have the pics printed for some family members. Good to know about MB, though, as I'll definitely join; I've also been wondering how long MM forums will be available to us. MaryJane
