I was thinking the same as everyone else about the losses among the different groups in the last two months. Surely we were loosing more Meerkats than we were gaining, right! Well, I took the simple task of counting the December total (149) and compared it to the January total(157). I couldn't believe it was an increase and this is not including the Polaris, Nutters and Ty pups numbers that are unknown.
Don't give up on our Meerkats just yet. They are fighters and they have proven they can make a comeback.
In addition to the unknown number of pups, that total does not include Homestar Runner, Phillipe, Pozzo and McMurphy. All four appear in the encounters column during January. Hopefully they will remain in the research area.
