Dear producers of Meerkat Manor, I've struggled increasingly with the heartbreaking imagery of the show. I began watching the show this season for the first time (knew nothing about meerkats before and now I'm a meerkat fanatic) and have already witnessed the destruction of no less than 3 pups Frown I've wondered hard all weekend about what the show is trying to accomplish, and I have to admit, I'm still at a loss to understand it. If you read the chat rooms, your fans, many of them children, are being traumatized. I don't use the word casually. TRAUMATIZED Eek is appropriate in some cases. I'm a 49-year-old man, and I'm very disturbed by the frequently tragic imagery of the show. Now I read that Mozart's pups are slated to be annihilated this coming weekend. I hope that it's not too graphic. It's bad enough without pictures. That there are casualties, we understand. Occasionally, those tragedies should be profiled, but for school children, I think that most of the time it is enough to note that an animal has been lost (if fans inquire) and abstain from graphic imagery. I think it's past time for the show's producers to explain to fans (and parents) what the show is about and what it is trying to accomplish. My personal opinion, it's really arguable whether the show is still family-hour content. I hope you realize how serious this is getting. Please try and understand...

A friend called me while Meerkat Manor was on and she had just turned to the channel. She had a ten year old girl with her who immediately saw the meerkats and thought them to be cute. I warned my friend that Blossom was going to be killed and that she might want to not have the girl watch it or get involved with the series. My friend agreed wholeheartedly and changed the channel. There are other ways to teach children about nature, life, and death.
