I was surprised to see the pictures of Vivan and Young Ones on the Current Groups page, but I do love it. :O)

Did you notice under Kung Fu group, it says they are led by Kleinje and Ningaloo of FRISKYs? I wasnt aware that Ningaloo ever immigrated to the Friskys before. Do you know how long ago that was, or could it be a error *maybe I just read it wrong,too*

Ningaloo(VWM085)is the new DM of the Kung Fu! He is listed as such in the "current group", but his Family affiliation isn't!

It's a typo. The previous DM of the Kung Fu (that was last seen in April 2008) was Clinton Baptiste of Frisky (VFM123). It's in the report. Ningaloo never immigrated to the Frisky, only to the Kung Fu.

The Kung Fu were founded in October 2007 by Ningaloo Whiskers, Wollow Whiskers (that emigrated to the Whiskers later), Kleintjie, and Benzendrine, the two evicted Commandos females, Clinton Baptiste of Frisky, and two wild males. That's why Ningaloo is mentioned as a Kung Fu rover in November, December, and January. The groups that any of these meerkats were members appear on the name list.

Without help from people like you, I don't think I could ever keep up, or catch up without a computer of my own. Hopfully, I will continue to learn more from the good people here on AP forum and from the fkmp site.

I'd hate to see them go from the Current Groups list to the Lost Groups. We've already lost the Balrogs, Gattaca, Vivians, Young Ones, and Starsky....... please no more

They are only three females in the Rascals. Islay lost her litter. The DM, Hoki (wild) was absent at the end of the month. It's almost winter in the Kalahari, and there is not too much roving. I hope that the group doesn't disappear.
The Kung Fu have only 7 members. Some males emigrated in the past (including Wollow that returned to the Whiskers, and another wild male), and Clinton Baptiste, the DM, and another wild male were last seen this April. I guess the members of the group are Kleintjie, the DF (Gattaca/Commandos), Benzendrine (Commandos), Ningaloo, the DM (Whiskers), and 4 pups. Kleintjie is Benzendrine's aunt. Zorilla Commando is Kleintjie's littermate (and Benzendrine's mother). Poor Kleintjie was evicted from the Gattaca, and the Commandos.

I've been worried about the Rascals for a couple of months now...their only members are Blondie, Islay and Tooey...They need a roving coalition to join them really bad...

Maybe Clinton Baptiste left the Kung Fu group so he can rejoin the Rascals, since there are no more wild males there now. I noticed on the March name list that he had been a member of Rascals before, but I don't know if he was a DM of the group, and whether Blondie was DF at the time.

Clinton Baptiste Frisky went all over. He was a Frisky (his natal group) rover in September 2007. He immigrated from the Frisky to the Rascals, where he became the DM in October 2007, but he was roving too! Blondie was the DF. He emigrated (he returned to the Frisky) in October 2007 and he kept roving. Then he immigrated to the Kung Fu in November 2007, where he became the DM from November 2007 until March 2008.

Thanks can't wait to check it.... and to see Flower's movie. I'm counting down to the very day.... it'll be sad but I have to honor her by watching. And to honor RD and atch her lead for half of season 4.... then to see how Ella does.

Rocket leads the family all of Season 4.

Her accident happened after filming stopped for the season. So it truly will be "her" season to shine as DF of Whiskers.

It seems no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to hold on to our Whiskers! The ones we all first met 2 years are all gone, except for Zaphod! It is just so sad!!!

Hello eruth66! It is getting hard to hold on to our little Whiskers and other kats, too. It is sad, but there are more kats that have their story to tell and we can see our beloved departed kats in them. I keep telling myself that so that I can watch MM:TSB and S4 without bawling my eyes out. I just hope Zaphod hangs in there, he is such a wonderful little guy.

I can't believe all the changes. That's what I get for staying away for so long. What happened to Rocket Dog? I could kick myself for being away for so long. Work was so very hectic, then I couldn't log in, so I finally decided to re-register; and wouldn't you know it, my password came to me. LOL.

I am so glad Zaphod is still with us. He's such a staple to the Whisker's survival.

I have a lot of reading to do.

Flower was able to develop and refine her skills over the years. I really hope that all of Flower's offspring that are currently either DF's or DM's will have the opportunity to grow into their leadership roles.

As for the Rascals, I worry that this may be one of the last months they are included on the Life History Reports. Poor Blondie, Islay and Tooey, abandoned by all the males in their group. Sadly, this situation reminds me of the Season 3 episode about Mozart, Kinkaju and De La Soul. Maybe these Rascal gals can find some wild males or even some habituated males that have left their natal groups.

The Rascals situation immediately gave me flashbacks of the Starskys. Hopefully their luck changes soon for the better!

I thought that as long as the df stayed within her groups territory, that the group won't be considerd last seen. Probably because roving males may intergrate? Blondie has been the Rascals DF for quite a while, so unless Tim-Clutton Brock gives his OK, the researchers won't consider Rascals last seen, right?

I think that as long as a group has a DF (or a DM) with a collar and a few members is not going to be last seen. But rovers have to join very soon. Blondie is the DF since August 2007.
The Vivian were last seen because Rhian died, she was wearing the collar, there was no other DF, and a couple of members left. The Polaris were last seen because Carravagio was wearing the collar, he died, the group was not habituated yet, and the researchers couldn't identify them.
