This was posted in TV Guide before the 2nd season started. I just found it. It is a great read. http://community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=700007174
I just the read the article and it was good. I didn't know there were people threatening to boycott the show. As most of us have stated we are disappointed in them not telling us the key to the fate of Shakespeare. I think the animal planet producers should appologize to us viewers for lieing to us about this. I have emailed animal planet of my concerns and have asked them to appologize to us. I have not received a reply back yet. If I do I will share it with you all. In the meantime I will continue to watch Meerkat Manor.
I hope that people will not stop watching Meerkat Manor just because they are angry with the producers of the show. To say you are not going to watch the show anymore because you are sensitive to death and violence personally to me is a more valid reason. We all need to support Meerkat Manor for the following reasons: 1. By bringing to light via educating people on the subject of meerkats, it makes us conscious of how similar we are to them in terms of behaviors and emotions and vice versa. Also if the researchers find out all they can about these precious souls they can use this knowledge to better help them. Perhaps in presenting all of their findings on meerkats they can persuade whomever has control of all of their territory so as to prevent them from being exterminated (and killed in other ways im assuming) someone posted on one of the boards. Although as many people on the boards are aware, I wish that they could start to save them now. But just because they cannot or will not is not sufficient cause for me to ever boycott Meerkat Manor. One last comment, I did not know that that Meerkats ever existed until I watched this show about them!
