Thanks again ccatz, you are a blessing!

What a lovely writeup. I smiled and cried at the same time. I am glad that JE is not going to be part of it, once is enough.

Thank you for the info!

I love the following excerp from Evi's review of the movie: Big Grin

<<Evi: Life history: Major milestones in Flower's life are shown, but several of the details differ from the KMP Life History. Furthermore, stand-in meerkats are frequently used, including the occasional pregnant male... Better just to enjoy the movie, than to analyse it - it is a tribute to Flower, not a documentary!>>

Can't wait to see it!

Yeah I am really looking forward to the movie and relieved that they won't show Flower's death.

I'm reading Flower's book, but trying to read it slow and savor it (kind of like a glimpse of Baby Flower.) Flower is definitely her mother's daughter, her pups come above all and then the family. Of all her children, so far it seems Flower was given her fortitude and courage. Two natural born leaders! I wish we had known Holly, Risca, and the gang. His writing makes them come alive. Holly and Flower are two peas in a pod.

You are so right Bischonmom. I too wish we could have known these special meerkats. Maybe someday the researchers will allow us to view some of the original film I know they must have in their archives.

I just received the paperback copy of TCM's book. This I will use for notes etc. My hardback is one of my treasures; to one day be wrapped in my meerkat blankie and lovingly kept forever.

The film is described as a prequel to Meerkat Manor. Often I & many others have written that someday we hoped to know more about Flower's family and early life. With TCB's book, the film will allow us to see it, maybe not exactly as it happened, but I am becoming more content within myself as May 25 approaches.

I had so wanted to see it in the theater, but perhaps this movie tribute to Flower is best seen in a more intimate, up close & personal location...our hearts & home.

Since this is the spoiler group I'm going to say this as I know it won't ruin anyone's "read." When Flower first became DF she didn't evict her sisters and they killed her litter (was it one litter or two?) Flower was a kind kat, but learned to evict for the sake of her litter. I miss The Rose of the Kalahari so much.

Another after thought. Did I read it or did I learn it in a social work class about 12 million years ago? People who will watch a book/movie more than once or will enjoy someone telling the ending before they watch/read are people who watch/read for the sheer pleasure of reading/watching. I don't mean to say that one is good and one is bad, just that people are different. I think those of us on the spoiler board take MM apart, put it together, and then do the same all over again - that we go over the same things from all angles and then do it again. I think its our way of seeing more and more about the lives of the kats. Ok, nuff' said (just rambling thoughts,) I'll go quietly and eat a breakfast of chocolate coffee beans and boiled peanuts and put on my tin foil hat.

Your thoughts make purrfect sense to me. For me it was to become one with our meers. What better way than to learn as much as you can about a creature you have come to love, admire & respect...our precious Flower and all she represented.

I was here; Flower & her Whiskers 3000+ miles away...How else could I become more close to her, to be a part of their lives, but to dissect every piece of knowledge I could get my paws on. The more I knew the closer I became, almost a mob member.

Silly goose, me, but please bischonmom pass the
chocolate covered coffee beans. I am already wearing my tin foil hat. Cool

Great ideas Bischonmom and Ccatz.

Re-reading the TCB book is a wonderful way to get ready for the movie premiere. We are really fortunate that, thanks to a research project, we have this account of Flower's life to remember her achievements. How sad if we had never gotten to know Flower and her family.

I really like the idea of buying a second copy to "mark up". Cannot decide if I want a paperback or another hard copy. Is the paperback an exact replica of the hard cover version?

I may not be the person to ask. I cannot even get the author's initials correct!!!!

Did I really say TCM? Cool

The text appears exact, but I haven't done a chapter check. The book is 7 1/2 x 10 1/2. Due to size the photos have been cropped; TCB's wife's paintings are absent. Another hardcover would be awesome, but the paperback will serve my purpose...soaking up a tear or 2.

Good evening ccatz and bischonmom! It is only SIX DAYS until MM:TSB! I need to go foraging for chocolate covered coffee beans and I have my tin foil hat, made from EXTRA heavy duty Reynolds Wrap, but boiled peanuts? Do I need to add another item to my "Flower night" list?

Have a wonderful evening to both!

Thanks, Ccatz. I figured the pictures may be down-sized in a paperback version.

Must admit that I did not notice the TCM. Guess it was selective perception. I expected to see TCB so I saw TCB. Smile
