From what I have read on the boards, yes, Wilson apparently does die shortly after Mozart. I am not sure how he dies, but he is gone as well. Such a shame! All of our babies are dying!
Check out the board that has pronkers name in it at the top. They confirm that Wilson died two months after Mozart, but as of this time, no one yet knows how, or why he died.
willson proubably died from the fire or mabe he missed mozart i dont like how mozart just died right after she finally found a mate.and poor wilson he was so cute and alot nicer than hannibal, i hateee hanibal, he is so mean he killed poor carlos.
I think Zaphod owed a lot to Flower and her leadership. Yes, he was and is an excellent DM but she bore the brunt of leadership and proved herself worthy in every way. I like the fact that Zaphod keeps checking back on his family. Just like any good father/grandfather would. K
Zaphod is one strong meerkat, also lets not forget the late rains could be part of this and food for more deaths. But still i miss everyone that have died.
have always wondered if JD [Carlos] brought TB with him to the Starsky. After all, both of his parents died from it and he was acting as DM to his mom until he left to be with the Starsky. I have thought so from the time he died with his face as it was. I had a bad feeling the Starsky would be no more... now even Wilson is gone as well.
I always have had a hard time accepting that Mozie was killed but not eaten.. makes no sense unless she was simply too far into TB and the predator knew it and then left the kill.
I just hope our Whiskers are safe with them adopting sweet lil Azel from the YO who are likewise, dying off.
I'm sad about Wilson too. IMHO it's highly probable that JD/Carlos infected the Starsky. From what I have read, TB is fairly slow moving, usually taking several months for symptoms to progress and eventually cause death. (But it may progress faster if the animal is weakened, e.g., from drought and famine.)
YIKES, meerkataddict! I hadn't thought of Axle being a risk. <sigh> There are many ways TB can be spread, including rovers and IGI's (battles between mobs). I hate to be pessimistic, but the research articles I've read (only a couple so far) on TB in the Kalahari meerkats scared me. One study (small and very short-term) was done in 2000!! I wish they had gotten dedicated veterinarian(s) involved long ago.
But I'm probably jumping to unfair conclusions out of worry for our beloved kats. Whatever is going on, I hope they make progress FAST.
