Considering the amount of emotion and attention it is generating already, and.....
the number of fans that haven't a clue what is going to occur....

I think this is going to be a really devastating night (Sept 28th, I think), and there will probably be a lot of press coverage about the episode.

And many fans are going to need some TLC after it.

to be honest, I have tried not to think about it.

I am guessing I will be here though. I will have to. I am still a newb around here, but I look at this community like a family. We are all here because we love Meerkat Manor. To see the manor go on without it's focal point is going to be hard on everyone, but I just want the rest of the people around here to know, that I will be here for you.

Flower is by far and away my favorite meerkat. To think of it without her makes me emotional, even as I type. I am not too proud to say that I will need some TLC myself.

I am hoping that we will all stick together and be here for eachother.

Hopefully they won't show her bleeding and foaming at the mouth and twitching, dying in agony. But the way the season has bee so far, I expect the to make it as graphic as they can.

So, no, I'm not ready.

Since AP has not taken in to consideration the feelings of it's LOYAL viewers up to this point, I would pray that they would be sympathetic to how this situation will affect us all.

I hope that it is done with class and dignity.

My hope/guess is that Sean Astin would not narrate anything that would be done in poor taste, has they decided to go that route.

Regardless of how it is depicted, I know how I will remember her and I know how the others here will, and that's what really matters.

I just don't know how I am going to take it

On another thread, there is some talk about approaching AP about using the youtube flower video tribute done by one of the members, it may help.
I hope we don't get a "lecture", so annoying, about how this is life on the Kalahari. We need some space here to grieve.

But I will be here. I love that little girl.

How ready can you be? Yes, the Executive producers shared this devastating news in Feb., but those were printed words on the forum.

We all read it and even at that time, a light in us went out. I know it did in me.

Now I will see it happen. We will all see this beautiful, beloved meerkat, Flower, face her destiny and succumb to the bite of the snake.

Speaking for myself I have been desparately trying to find the proper state of mind to fortify myself against the extraordinary emotions I will feel that night.

But I can't and maybe that is good. Seeing Flower in these early episodes of Season 3 I say she is still with us, but I also know it is not true and she is dead. The finality of death will be harsh.

I suspect AP will present it as another tragic and devastating Kalahari event. I would hope they would deviate from the path they have chosen for the past seasons and also Season 3, but I do not think so. They are relating the life and tragic events of the meerkats.

Flower was perhaps one of the greatest Dominant Females to grace the Kalahari Desert. The Whiskers ruled the Manor. Fortunes have changed, but it was not of their making, but a coming together of many factors.

It will be shown as it occurred. I think you are right about Sean not speaking words that would in any way be less than respectful, how could he? Even AP knows of her greatness and what she has meant to us.. It cannot be ignored.

This is Flower. I do love and respect her.

As for me I will be there with her in spirit as she leaves us. My heart and head will rest on her tiny body. I will say goodbye and like everyone else I will sob.

To answer your question...no I am not prepared.

I agree with you Ladygillen, how does one be prepared. It's going to happen and we will all deal with it, we do deal with grief in our daily lives.

We will have this place to come share our feeling and read those of others.

Flower has already been gone for almost 6 months now. Perhaps that night will really be a great time to relly remember one of your favorite episode that you trully enjoy watching Flower and her Family.

It's the memories that we keep forever.

I cannot answer for the world, but I am not.
I love that Season 3 is here, despite the tragedies, but each Friday brings us closer to the day of reckoning.

I was on the AP UK site last night and they will see it before we do if I counted right. Poor kats.

But it is a quiet time to think. My sons are still in bed. This is my first Meerkat Manor season although I am hurrying to catch up. I don't know what to expect the night Flower dies. I have had a difficult time with Mozart's pups.

Why is this having such an impact on me already, after all, I have lost many friends, relatives, already in life, some before their time. And I loved them for years and spent time with them.

Maybe it is that we know this is a sudden, unexpected, before-her-time tragedy, but in the strange ways of reality TV, like a ticking time bomb, can count the days before it "happens."

One box of Kleenex may not be enough.

kittyglitter, get something to prevent eye puffing after crying, or a good pair of sunglasses.

Also, raise an extra glass of champagne in Flower's name.

When you lose somebody you think you know
And when you know its going to happen.
Its just too sad.
I think I will need 2 boxes of tissues.
No matter how much we prepare Its going to make no different. Frown

What makes it WAY more hard for me is that a meerkat-hater's B-day is one week BEFORE the *Episode*. NO. In my mind I have come to terms the fact she is dead however,in my heart I have yet to deal with it.

I belive that show to me will be a slap in the face(emtionally).I can't think of a way to prepare myself.I'll simply need to see hear then deal.I keep trying to lie to myself "she's not really gone'she's not really dead"Kinda like when Tosca went missing I kept telling myself she's not dead she's.....missing but,in my heart I know she's gone.
her childern gone on b4 her I'm sure were glad to see her agian.

It's a comfort to know she is not lonely or hungry struggling or afriad. Not that I ever saw Flower afriad.

Love and peace to all .It has been a long day.I'm off to my nice cool burrow for (hopefully) a restful nite. STAY STRONG Y'ALL. Razz

I was thinking about this earlier.. even though she is already gone... we won't be able to see it til sept 28.. i realized... shes a great meerkat.. the best of all.... but now that she is gone... the daily struggle of life is no longer an issue for her... rather she is in a place of no worries and never-ending food supply.. and mostly.. she get to be with all those that have been gone as well... and eventually she'll reunite with the rest of the whiskers when their time is due... so either way.. shes in a happy place bc she gets to see her long lost family once again...

I think for a lot of the people here, the answer is

"as ready _as I'll ever be_."
