Being new this season I heard the words, Meet Flower for the first time this past weekend as I watched the Seasons 1 & 2 DVDS. I cried then as I had been reading all the posts I could to bring me up to date. Flower was now a part of my heart also.

It will be very difficult that night.

I've tried to stay off the site but finally last night I just had to see what others were saying about this season.

I too have known something was up based on the promo for the episode on the 28th, only today did I learn that Flower is already dead.

Honestly I thought it would be Zaphod or maybe Flower losing her position as DF, never did I think she would die. I can't stop crying even though she was my 3rd favorite. My 1st is Shakespeare with Tosca coming in 2nd.

The only comfort we can take from this is that we have the DVD's to relive her life any time we want. Also to know in our hearts that she is now back with her family that went on before her. Free from pain, hunger, cold and the battles with other meerkats. She left at the top and that's how she will always be remembered.):

meerkata - Sorry you had to hear this, and I think I speak for everyone when we say we know how distracted and confused you must feel by this. I had to go to all the sites posting the "producers statement" to confirm, just couldn't believe.

I can't imagine how difficult it's gonna be as the day approaches. Knowing it is one thing watching it is gonna be a lot worse. I've grown quite attached to these little meerkats, last season was hard enough but this season is just ripping my heart apart.

I know it's all a part of life and death in the desert but human nature wants us to protect and nurture them like we would a family pet.

I'll definitely need more than 1 box of kleenex for that episode.

The past 2 days I have been watching the tribute video of Flower called Remember When. It is really a beautiful tribute. There are others but this one really does it for me. RIP Flower. We love you.

Knowing it will happen and then seeing it happen will be 2 different things. None of us are really ready but we will have to endure it. Where can I find the tribute video by the way?

I've taken Saturday off to deal with the grief and help all other reaching out in pain and sorrow of the loss of our dear Flower.

I just re-read some of the posts here and I now agree with ZTM post of how it will be somewhat of a relief .It will be over.The building up in wait for a death we know is coming is almost excruciating.I didn't feel I could function at work so I took a vacation day.
I have a pretty pink flower pin I will wear in my hair 9 28 07.

BTW when I was asked why I wanted Saturday off at work, with my explanation given the HR person,she just looked at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.I guess she's not a fan huh.

Thats' OK we all all have each other to lean on to cry to and morn with .Together we can deal.

I have to say I agree with Bumpy_40, and ZTM, It will be sort of a relief. My heart has been heavy, and I'am dreading the 28th! I know its already happend, but I have to see it myself, and then cry like a baby, so I can let her go. This blog is great, and its great to read that others feel the same way about our beloved kat!

First of all, Happy Birthday!!!
I am sorry you found out about Flower's death this way. The spoiler board is difficult to stay away from, I tried, but I never thought the spoiler would be so horrible, so awful, and I spent an entire weekend walking around in a fog.
You can console yourself knowing that we are all here and all feel the same as you. There is another young person, blossomthemeerkat, who has been so upset that her Mom won't let her watch. She still drops by to see what is going on.
If you read the UK spoiler part 2, the people from Britain (they are seeing a new episode every day) described tonight how it happens. Flower left this world aggressively trying to save her pups from a snake. She died a hero. She was a great leader and a great mother.
Go to some of the sites where pictures and videos are listed. There are some beautiful things that have been done in her honor and they make me cry everytime, but they make me happy to see Flower in all her glory.
Stay strong and we are here for you.

I went out today and got some flowers (daisies and gazanias) that I have next to the TV.
I am officially in 10+ days of Flower mourning.
With our overseas friends seeing it last night and the date so close, it is no longer "coming up", it is upon us.
Like zaphodtheman, I am relieved, too. This has been very stressful, like losing a pet that lives in your home.
I guess this pet lives in my TV and computer.

Our UK friends saw it and had a thread for it. I did not want to read it. Why must it be told here?

i want 2 say thank u everybody, especially you melbacake and ladygillen its great 2 know that there are people who care for me & feel the same way i do. its been a sad day 4 me ive been so close to crying in each of my classes at school. i dont know wat were going 2 do without flower thanks 2 her the whiskers r alive she is the most sucessful meerkats in the world!!!!

Flowerzaphod, Happy Birthday! I meant to tell you earlier, but got upset after watching the Flower tribute on u-tube. I love your name! I dont know what were going to do without Flower as well, but we can look forward to the movie they made about her, Queen of the Kalahari, Its suppose to come out in December.

The word out now is that it will not be released in Dec, but sometime early in 2008. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, but now there will be 2 meerkat movies in 2008. I am disappointed though. maybe the "word" is incorrect.
