You said that Shakes joined Mels Mob. Was it a joke, a figure of speech, or was it true what you said. I'm dying to know and if I don't know I am going to pull my hair out and de-wire my printer. Tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think she was pulling your leg. Mel's mob is another chat room or site.

Yo

I think you must've misunderstood my post.

Shakesthemeerkat (screen name) joined MelsMob. And MelsMob is a group discussion board like this one.

Oops. Oh well. But what about the rumor you spoke about. How Shakes was last seen on the outskirts of the reserve? More info please? Confused

Yo Skyprophecy

There is a letter by Alex Thornton somewhere on the site and it was mentioned in that letter that a meerkat fitting Shakes description was seen outside the study area. There was no way to find out for sure if it was him. That was the last we heard about it.

The letter from Alex Thorton is posted on the thread called "Answers From Project Manager".
Actually there are two of them now I just posted the reply he sent me.

Yo

If you'd like to hear Alex Thornton discussing teaching behavior in meerkats and other wild animals, there is an interview with him on Science Friday on npr.

Interesting stuff. Amazing so many people still don't know what a meerkat is.
