I found this on a British forum: ------------------------------------------------ "The news as at the end of episode 2 is not good, I am afraid. The new series starts 2 months after the attack and it states that Shakespeare has not been since the fight and that they are almost certain he was fatally injured after protecting the pups and died underground. I suppose they just didn’t find his body. As for Big Cy, it didn’t say from what he dies, just that shortly after the fight, he becomes seriously ill and dies. Another piece of sad news is that Tosca also disappeared during the depths of winter, presumed dead as it was unlikely she could have survived the cold alone. Poor Tosca! The reason they show the snake in the trails is that one cape cobra takes up residence in the Whiskers’ burrow towards the end of episode 2. However, no one is harmed. They are forecasting a big showdown between 2 rival groups in episode b3, with tragic consequences. Bill Nighy has a new phrase to make us smile now too: it’s now the “Lazuli ladis”. There is also a new roving male on the scene called Grog and competition to take over the Lazuli is also rife! So it looks like our suspicions were well founded unless some miracle happens, which I can’t see somehow." ------------------------------------------------
Personally,I have to say I'm never going to watch this show again!! I understand the 'circle of life' and all that, but to have teased us with Shakespear's and Tosca's outcome like this, is reprehensible.

Yeah, I saw this too. And it even gets worse. Animal Planet UK has all 13 episode guides up. See it here: http://www.animalplanet.co.uk/meerkat_manor/flash/episode/index.shtml It makes no mention of Shakespeare again, or Tosca. And it would appear that Mozart seems to get into trouble again, and stays in it most of the season. Looks like they don't talk too much about Mitch either, or even Columbus. I'll keep watching, but it won't be the same.

machine8828.... Mels report is quiet good. They had to wait 10 months for season 2 to start in the UK. I'll bet that is why they had the first two episodes together.
Thanks for the link to all 13 episodes looks like they are going to hang us out to dry again in the last episode. You are right it may not be the same.

I really like the layout of the UK web page. More information regarding all that is Meerkat Manor. I know they are further along in the series than the US so this may be why they seem to have more info regarding the series. Anyway, I like the layout, especially the cast and crew area.

Wsoconnell, Yeah, I found that site actually before I found this one. I was digging for info on whether or not Shakes made it through the snakebite, and then realized that what we were seeing was actually about a year old. After that, I kept dreading the last show, because I knew Shakes was gonna be gone after that. I was hoping for a miracle, or some sort of plot twist in the first show, of season 2, but alas, no such luck. It's just going to be a whole different show, with Shakes not in it, Tosca not in it, and Mozart in trouble like Tosca was. Little to nothing about Mitch, nothing thus far about Columbus. GRRRR. Anyway, I'll still be glued to the tv, and hopefull, by some miracle that something good comes out of this season. They don't go into a lot of detail about the episodes after the 4th one, so maybe everyone's favorite little dude, with come prancing back in or something. It's kind of odd to me, that they're making us wait 4 weeks, after the UK shows start, and on the Canadian website, it only listed the 4 shows, and on the UK there's not much detail after 4. And then again, maybe I'm too optimistic.

Taken out of context there dont u think.
ONLY being compared to those that we DO see. Not meaning ONLY as in 'who cares it was only them 2'.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! So, the "key to the fate of Shakespeare" was NOT introducing him in the opening of the show and then hitting us immediately with the presumed deaths of both him and Tosca??? Pretty tacky...to say the least!

I waited a month to find out nothing. WTF! They've got cameras all over the place and can't find a body. The way this was handled was just horrible. I hope Tosca and Shakes are well but it doesn't look like we'll find anything out. Does anyone know for sure what has happened to my 2 favorite cats?

I'm not sure how long I will watch this either. I feel the same way...this was just wrong to tease us about the fate of Shakespear!!! Not knowing about what happened to Tosca and Shakespear has me so sad and upset. They didn't even mention Columbus, Basil, Parsly, Rose, Carlos, Sophie, etc...
If they are going to make these meerkats part of our lives they should take care of them. We love each of the Whiskers and expect them to be provided for and they shouldn't use the circle of life as an excuse to let tragic things happen to these adorable, precious animals.
And does anyone know who are the Commandoes? Could this be Shakespear with a new group or maybe Tosca and a new group???

To Krdo,
If you haven't read the letters from Tom Flower and Alex Thorton on the message board with subject "Answers from Project Manager", you might read those. There is some interesting information from both of them. It could be that Shakepeare is still alive. We are all hoping so.
