Hi Phil, TCB's MM book is great, but it ends with Flower's death in Jan 2007. As you know, since then activity in the manor has been chaotic. The book is a well-written and fascinating narrative of meerkat life, but it has nowhere near the level of detail you will learn from the LH reports.

If you like to dig into details, I'd hate to see you miss out on studying the Life History reports for yourself. They are packed with key information about the meerkats' activities straight from the meticulously maintained KMP scientific database. The LH Background web page shows the type of detail you will learn:
http://friends.kalahari-meerkats.com/index.php?id=life_history0

You can download the FREE version of Adobe reader here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?ogn=EN_US-gntray_dl_get_reader

(Note: You can click to un-check the "Photoshop Album Starter Edition" box so no extra software is downloaded.)

Description: "Adobe® Reader® software is the global standard for electronic document sharing. It is the only PDF viewer that can open and interact with all PDF documents..." I totally understand your fears about computer viruses, but Adobe really is the universal "gold standard" software for viewing many online documents. We've had it installed on our PCs for many years without any problems. With Adobe's reputation at stake, I have no doubt that they take precautions to ensure its integrity.

Good Luck! If all else fails, sometimes people will post a summary of information from the LH report. For last month, see thread "Feb LH in English." Best Wishes

I haven't had much time to really look at the Feb. LH report. Could someone tell my where Mozart's daughters, Miss Lily and Ju Drop are? I know they were evicted by RD in Dec. or Jan. and one of them (Miss Lily, I think) was pregnant. Any word on what mob they were with in Feb.?

ninjamom1,

Alexander was listed on the November Life History Report as dead. According to update Group History for Lost Groups, Alexander and his sons were ousted by wild males.

I certainly hope Zaphod is more fortunate than Alexander. He has earned a dignified retirement.

New Manor Fan,

I agree. I hope Zaph continues to have a dignified retirement.

oreocreme,

Mozart's daughters are both in Toyota. There are four pups. It is not known whose pups they are.

Thanks, ninjamom1. I hope Toyota turns out better for them than Starsky did for their mom. Even though we don't know if Tina/Sophie carried her pups to term, it looks like Mozart is probably a grandma. Too bad she won't ever get to meet the little dears.

Thank you. I hope that poor Ketamine didn't just "disappear".
A lot of male meerkats from established groups were ousted by wild males (and the Whiskers!), and their future is dubious. Any of our favorite kats from the Whiskers and the Aztecs could be overthrown!

I think that Alexander was injured from the fighting, and had TB. He couldn't keep up with his sons HR and Philippe, and he eventually died.

NazarethDodo

The "p" word that you used was not triggered? K-a-r-i-m used to be triggered! Imagine if the "p" word was triggered on the electronic and all media, the way it is used the last couple of days!

The way I feel is that there are as many opportunities for our KMP kats moving outside of the reserve as there are for the wild kats moving in.

I think there are good chances that many of our favorite LS kats could be living happily outside of the reserve in new groups.

I like to think the wild kats that have come into the reserve are sons and daughters of our last seen kats: Shakespeare, Mitch, Tina Sparkle, Ketamine, Flava Flav, Jogu, Little My, and the list goes on. Of course, some of those need more time to produce offspring, but in the end, I think that's what happens.

I agree, ninjamom. I try to take a "big picture" view of the Kalahari meerkats. They are all members of the animal species we have come to love. What a positive, healing thought that the wild meerkats entering the KMP are descendants of our favorite LSEEN kats! Some of them undoubtedly are. Thank You for sharing.

Ketamine is not Zarathustra. Ketamine was the previous DM of the Commandos, and he was deposed by Zara and other Whiskers. He is not Homestar Runner either (that died of TB). HR was from the Young Ones, and he tried to join the Aztecs and the Whiskers.

Thanks ninjamom for putting a positive spin on all the wild meerkats that have appeared in the Manor during the past few months.

NazarethDodo: Mexican Prostitute, that was a good one. I am going to get rid of my computer in about a month or two and buy a labtop, but it's like $500.00, and I need to save up some money for that. Anyways, thanks for the information. On the site with the pictures of the Meerkats, someone replied that a lot of them have passed on, I am not familiar with some of them, but which ones are still around? and, which ones have passed?

phil, as kach said, you can check on this spoiler fourum for monthly life history report summaries. i started a couple late in 2007, as have others before and since. i'm sure you coudld find one for every month since last summer at least on this forum. but also, as kach said, you don't need to worry about adobe software and computer viruses. pdf documents are very common, and adobe is the software to get to view it.
