I was out of town for the weekend so I taped the show. Went to watch it last night & for some reason my new vcr cut off about the last 10 mins of the show. The last thing I saw was lonley abandoned Mozart wating for her family to return (soooo sad, & the music is heartwrenching), & the Commandos had moved into the Wiskers new digs. Night is falling & they show the Commandos. Who gets attacked & what happened to Mozart & her pups? That poor girl, she had opportunity to kill Flower's pups but didn't & in return, she gets abandoned just like Daisy did when she had her pups int he wrong bolt hole. Please someone tell me what happened!!!

Mozart's hunger got to her and she had to leave the pups alone in order to find food. While she was gone, the Commandos do get into the burrow and kill all of her pups. The narrator tells us that it was really very likely that the pups would have died anyway, as one meerkat could not protect them, and if Mozart had not gone to find food, she would have no milk for them as well as died herself. The Commandos did what they did instinctively in order to survive themselves by trying to expand their food territory and killing other mob's meerkats. I thought the producers did things tastefully this time. We never got to know the babies and they weren't named, and they took the effort to explain the nature of it all, but, I'll tell you, that it happened really hurts.

And what became of Mozart, I read another thread saying she was close to her family while out foraging, just on the other side of the hill where her family was. Did they leave us hanging again as to the fate of Mozart until next season? Man, I hate this, do we have to wait to hear 'till next season... "It's been several months & there's been no sign of Mozart?"

That is where they left us hanging. Mozart is getting close to her family. We are hoping she gets back in. We also hope that they don't come back in the third season and tell us that they don't know what happened to her like they did Shakepeare and Tosca.

Thanks, I'm almost glad my vcr cut off the bad parts. Even though it's sad, I still want to see the end. I know Nov. 24th they're showing a Meerkat Matathon. Does anyone know if that includes Season 1 too?

It is a 13 hour(or 26 half hour) marathon!!!!
So most likely it will have both season 1 and 2

BOTH seasons will be shown on Nov. 24th.From the very begining to the end of season 2.

My TV Guide is listing a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom marathon on 11/24. When is the Meerkat Manor marathon supposedly starting?
