You never should have taken your question if RD is still alive outside of the Spoiler Board.
It is not even in the monthly reports.
It just happened.
Especially the "Welcome" page which does not even discuss the day to day of meerkats.

And people, maybe thread topics that do not give this away would be good. After all, on the meerkat manor site, you can see "RIP Rocket Dog" as the top entry on one of the Memorium pages.

What to do? There are people who want to get the information as they see it on TV. They have been almost thrown into only two forums, Welcome and Talk About.

Now even that is all messed up.

DD, I am sorry to hit you so hard over this. It is just that this is one of my pet peeves.

Hello melba! It is a very delicate balance keeping things "in place".

I do appreciate the fact that we are told of things in advance on the Spoiler Board, but I also see the feelings of members to post memorials to fallen kats.

I wonder if once the spoiler releases the information, would it be a good idea to add a memorial thread to the spoiler board to give people a place to post memorials?

I realize that nothing is a "cure all", but perhaps a mention of a memorial located on the spoiler board would permit everyone to post their feelings without going to other places to post.

I was not going to start a thread about RD, but once one was started, I did post on it.

Just an idea, there will always be "slip ups", I had already read about RD, but I went to Welcome To The Burrow and found a member had mentioned it there.

This does not say wait until season 5. It says post now, so someone did...

This is what it says, so people are posting to it and it shows who the memorial is about. I thank Pronker so much for posting this on the spoiler. If possible, and someone can catch it, maybe the post should be deleted with a warning to the person who posts.

Also, maybe the person posting the spoiler can once again let EVERYONE know not to post this information on any other thread. I think many of us get caught up with the information and we tend to go elsewhere. This shouldn't happen but it has since I have been on here.

I do not want this to hinder us from knowing things in the future. Maybe when people sign up as new to the forum it can be stated that the spoiler is the spoiler and nothing leaks out from it. Also the spoiler should not have a section that shows what is being posted and about who...just a statement that says spoiler only and nothing else....Melba, your post only said DD- Please note and that was all...maybe something should state new spoiler...and that's all..I do not know if this can be done, but I would sure give it a try.

Maybe we can have trigger words that pertain to that certain spoiler and it will not post until it is reviewed and then possibly deleted before it leaks out to another forum...

One thing that would help:

Keep the titles of spoiler threads ( and possibly the memorial threads ) hidden on the main page. This would make perfect sense.

Greetings ninjamom1! Yes, that is a marvelous idea if it is possible to do! I do not want it to be where the people that follow the kats are apprehensive to be kind enough to let us know because it will result in an "explosion", but between trigger words and hidden threads this may result in happiness all around!

I'm sure whatever was done was done in shock and saddness. I really don't think it was done to best someone who didn't know. We all do things we normally would not do when upset.

I have the impression that DD is a teenager, so we shouldn't be too harsh on her.

There is no easy way around "spoiler leakage." I just liked seeing last season as it happened. There was only one thing everyone on Spoiler knew, and that was Flower's death. And a good job was done to keep it on spoiler only. Even the British forum members kept their information about the season on ONE THREAD on spoiler, it didn't leak out of that thread.

Now, with the KMP reports, we have information about all the meerkats even after Season 4 is in the can. And it is on all the boards, even "Talk About." So it is harder for people to be on the chats, want to talk about meerkats, but still be able to see the next season as an unfolding drama.

Sometimes it is nicer to watch the show with unknowing eyes.

Oh, well. That's life.

I'm with you, Melba. I sympathize with the many MM fans who do NOT want to know what's going on behind the scenes. It was a lot less stressful to watch the shows with innocent eyes, believing that everything shown is true.

I love the Spoiler forum. Knowing the truth behind the MM storylines is fascinating, but we also pay a price. The truth is much more complex than what is shown on MM, and it's often heartbreakingly sad.

I have seen several people get very upset when they stumble across something they did not want to know on the "Talk About..." forum. It makes them afraid to read any of the AP forums. We don't want to drive away MM fans!

Even during the off season, posting spoiler information is risky. Sometimes casual MM fans drop in. Old threads are always accessible to people scanning for interesting topics or using the "Find" button to search.

A suggestion: Let's all work together to keep the non-spoiler forums a safe place for all MM fans to participate. When someone makes a mistake (which we ALL do sometimes), we can ask mod_kelly to move the post or thread to the Spoiler forum. This sounds win-win to me. Best Wishes

I will get upset during every episode of MM season 4 I watch, knowing RD is dead. I will know it is the last time I see her. Then again, I mostly post on the Spoiler Board, so I have access to this kind of information immediately.

I agree with kach5503 that a post/thread can be moved to the Spoiler Forum.

I don't come to the spoiler board much before or during the season, but I want to tell all that do, that like Melba, it is hard for me to know something sad has happened with the meers and still enjoy the show. I don't check the LHs or the KMP site till after the season finale.

That being said, I deeply appreciate all that take great care to not let the main board reflect any information with the titles of their threads. I did see the candle thread, and after many tears, I also lit a candle. Still I would prefer not knowing.

I think you all have some great ideas on how to protect us 'don't wanna knows".

DDDD, most of us have made a mistake or 2 on this forum. it happens and we are all happy to have you here. i usually only post on the spoiler thread because of this reason. even if i start a topic that isn't spoiler related, my replies sometimes are, especially in the offseason. the whiskers/aztecs split, for example, seems like ancient history to me and it was the last episode of season #3!

I have also made mistakes DD. Sometimes you tell more than you should. I would have loved to known about the spoiler forum. I was completely taken off guard by all the deaths and didn't know about all the forums here to talk with people. I was so devastated by Flowers death that I still can't look at her in any pictures. I also respect other peoples views also to not know in advance. RIP our Sweet Beloved RD.

There is already a tribute video on the internet for Flower and Rocket Dog. So, if people are looking there they will see that RD passed away.

I myself was on MM when Len & Squiggy passed away and made a mistake and posted what I heard about Flower and I got in trouble also. We all have done it and it is not life threatening. Let's move forward and talk about the movie and next season and all the wonderful things there are to talk with each other about. ok? End of subject....
