I don't know what to believe from MM anymore. If Shakes can be a female on that babysitting day then Rockie can be a female DF.....With all the name changes who knows who or what any of them are? I can only believe the straight up facts on meerkats in general. I am finding it very hard to believe the "people in the know" as they have lied to us in the past and are probably lying to us to cover their tracks. But it does make for great drama......

I used to think that it was all AP who didn't want some things revealed, but I was thinking today maybe the researchers don't want some things revealed either.
I'm sure AP made a contract with Cambridge University to come over to the Kalahari and film these Meerkats and AP makes up a storyline as to what they have filmed, but maybe in the contract there are some stimulations as to what can and cannot be revealed.

Just some thoughts.

Why has not the Kalahari Meerkat Project site been updated?

The researchers have their abstracts, papers and credibility to protect, if their work is to be taken seriously and published in reputable journals. To do so the researchers had to set parameters and criteria as to what could and could not be done.

Of course it works both ways, but remember Clutton-Brock had to give AP the permission to utilize the KRR; not the other way around. So it was he calling the shots. He had to protect the integrity of his research site. This is his laboratory. Contamination of his site is not an option.

I know Discovery/AP paid a pretty price which went to the support of the research much in the same way as EarthWatchers' contributions, but look what it has done for both AP and the project. So much, that Tim is considering allowing independent groups to visit his precious meerkats.

Haven't we found enough proof that De La Soul is younger than Kinkajou and Daisy is older, thus proving them different kats? I agree with the thought that Soul and Rocket are meerkats we haven't met yet.

www.friends.kalahari-meerkats.com does have DeLaSoul(VWF068) and FlavaFlav (VWM070)with the same birthdates

There is not Meerkat on the 2007 list with Number VW?069
