M'Kay- this is something that MANY people on countless meerkat-fan sites are confused about- I hope this helps. [: Okay, all of us know "Nikita Commando". In Season 1, 2, and 3, Nikita was played by the same meerkat- but, on season 5, that was NOT Nikita as we know her- KMP's "Rhian" played Season's 1, 2, and 3's "Nikita", but, "Rhian" died before Season 5- actually, ALL of Commandos are actually dead now, mainly from disease. On Season 4, "Nikita" was played by a different meerkat, "Zorilla".
There are still some Commandoes born females in other KMP groups. Simons story was not real and there was no meerkat at that time atleast on the KMP lists called Simon - he was called 'Suggs' in the UK MM - Suggs dispersed a long time before that.
The Simon storyline was completely made up. No meerkat ever died defending RD's pups from a snake, or in any similar way during MM4 filming. The film was of various meerkats, including Flava Flav and Murray. There was also never any meerkat named Simon in Whiskers.
Zorilla/nikita's oldest daughter Benzedrine (aka Vacarro) is still alive and dominant female of the Sequoia group. One of her younger daughers Suzi "Two Tone" MacFloozie is alive and dominant female of the Geckos. Her two older sisters AnnieAnnieAnnie and Jemima were also in the group, but were missing at the end of last month. Geckos is not visited often but I am hoping they will continue following them, as they are an interesting group. Little Suzi has beaten two older females for the dominant position and seems to be a chip off the old block. I hope we get to see her group grow.
A large coalition of Commandos males left the group and study area in late 2007; hopefully they have established themselves somewhere.
Zorilla's littermate and former Commandos member Kleintjie/Rosie is still alive and Df of the highly successful Kung Fu group.

The only Whiskers that died around the time that "Simon" supposedly died was Murray. Murray was euthanized in January 2008. He had TB. TB was always a sensitive subject matter for MM. Even the name TB was not mentioned at all.

In season 3, "Journey's End", there was a scene of the Whiskers resting in the shade. It showed the Dominant Female suckling her pups, and she had a very distinctive scar over her eye. Wouldn't she be Zorilla ? Or did Rhian have a scar too? I also noticed they used alot of scenes of Zorilla in the Movie..
Rhian had no scar. Zorilla also played a scene for Lola in Season 3. Footage from all different kats is used to show certain scenes, JoJo Hello Elveera has played Flower too. Commandos, until Season 4 was played by Commandos, Elveera, Youngones and Vivian.. probably many more.
Busta (Pronker mentioned in the past) was a great babysitter to Beaker, and Nugget. He was very sick (he had TB) when he disappeared in late May 2008. He was declared last seen in July 2008.
Zorilla played Lola in Season 3 for a scene in I think the episode "the house of Zappa" / "Sibling Rivalry" (depending where you live) after she was over powered by Punk for Dominance, "Lola" returned to a nearby bolt hole and went to sleep - this was Zorilla sporting her scar above the left eye.
Lola was bitten by a snake, this was true.. stock footage of the incident was used to portray Holly's death in the Flower movie.
Lola was actually bitten by a snake (she survived, but she lost her dominance to her littermate Punk), and the episode was shown on MM. Zorilla was not bitten by a snake.
Oh, yeah, I recongnized her scar in that scene! I totally forgot!
So, it must of been her in Journey's End, when she played Flower when the family was resting in the shade.
So Lola did play herself? No offense AP, but that's almost a first.. You know, the scene when she looked at the camera.. those eyes, that gorgeous face... I just fell in Love.<3
Zappa played themselves mostly.. they had no interactions with Whiskers though, this is were the Youngones mob filled in for them in group scenes and Aurinko (encountered Flower whilst roving) doubled up with Dougal Zappa to create the character 'houdini' Frank was played by Gluffs (Lola's father and DM) also by Alexander DM of Youngones and then played by Zaphod and Puck for certain scenes also. In reality for example we saw Puck stepped in as natal Zappa DM after Gluffs left and when Dougal (his older brother) returned from his roving trip he was displaced in the 'dominance dance' scene..Franks 'exit' was just Zaphod being chased by Youngones as a rover.
Zorilla also had a brief appearance playing Flower in Journey's End (the episode where Flower died) in the scene of the group sitting in the shade with Busta and Suggs playfighting. The radio-collared individual clearly had Zorilla's scar, and by that point in time Suggs had gotten lost with Tina Sparkle and joined Hoax. They showed juveniles playfighting, so they must have been from one of Zorilla's later 2006/early 2007 litters... we might have seen some later stars there, like Samba or Celidah.
it's nice when we make sense of little snippits, for example, the Nigel Marvin dvd "Meerkat Adventure" features Grumpy (Greedy) with the litter of Little My etc as pups.. Elusine and Dante are also the dominants of the now lost Elveera in the dvd.
Suggs was an MM chacter that would 'live on' - the UK's version of Simon in MM4 was introduced as Suggs although it obviously was not.
I also noticed they used alot of scenes of Zorilla in the Movie..
