The "real" Daisy disappeared long time ago, but Meerkat Manor's DAISY is still around (or at least I "think" she is still alive and well on the Manor). I wish MM wouldn't change the names of the meerkats, it just gets me VERY confused. I mean, why did MM use Jim Bob of the Vivian group to portray Hannibal of the Commandos, when there really was a Hannibal in the Commandos?

OK, so I will list a different "sad ending" meerkat. How about "WILSON"? I know that the "real" Wilson died, but I don't know who MM's Wilson is/was??

Glitter, the Original Daisy disappeared before they started filming for the show...The first Daisy we knew was Super Furry Animal, she was a littermate of Rocket Dog's and we found out from the book that she died between Seasons 2-3....we also found out from the book that the Daisy that was evicted by Mozart in season 2 was really Armanita Ditch, a littermate of Monkulus being evicted by Cruise, a littermate of Mitch's...Season three's Daisy is another meerkat, but I can't disclose who...

Zettak, it was me that speculated that Wilson was Drew Commando (VCDM007) but Pronker said that the whole scene was probably two different meerkats and might not have been mozart at all...so Wilson is still a mysery...maybe if someone could figure out who that Mozart was, is she was the real Mozart or a stand in...then we could figure out who the Wilson was...

They are not sure if Tosca died or not. They never found her body, all we know is that she was evicted from the group and never seen again. Atleast that's how I feel, no body, then I don't believe they are dead.

the dreaded "last seen" thats what badiel got. eventually some meerkat on that "last seen" list will show up, i hope. won't that be a great day, if shakespear or tosca or yossarian, super furry, or whoever. you have to think with so many meerkats wondering off the study area, one of them (at least) should wonder back on again.

I think tosca started her own mob first with carlos and then yossarian thats what i think and hope.

Hopefully they will be able to track down Sophie on a later stage (if she didn't wandered to far away from the research area). It's likely that she already gave birth to her pups (unlikely that the pups will survive since she is not with a group currently).

Don't forget that Sophie is the great granddaughter of the remarkable Vivian, founder of the Vivian group who was seen to raise her first litter of pups alone...So she has a few strong females in her family...She might have been able to do what her great grandmother did...or may have already found a group by the time she gave birth....no one knows for sure....

I am hoping in different episodes of future season's of Meerkat Manor that Tosca will show up, Youssarian will show up, Shakespeare will show up, Mitch will show up, Sophie will show up, and any other's that are believed to be in or around the search area. Even if it's just for a second or two, for the narrator to let the viewers know who they are, and define their current role in their lives, it would be a great relief to know what's up with them.

Thats sputid, MM can chance the names of the meerkats so that whe believe that the meerkats are Mitch Sophie Yousserian or someone.
So listen, Rocketdog is in the group alive, but MM say she is dead, and in the place of naming her RD, the name her Tosca!

Is one of the many daisies still around? The Wilson that Mozart had a short fling with, is he the original Wilson that passed away? I did hear from another topic that JimBob was really Hanibal and not someone who played Hanibal, also heard he was a really sweet meerkat. I love Flower very much, but if Vivien, the original founder of the Vivien group, took care of her first batch of pups alone, and created the longest standing meerkat group since the research began, how come she's not in the same breath as Flower? I don't know Vivien personally, but hearing many stories of her greatness seem very similar to Flowers. As far as I know, the Vivien group lasted from 1992-2995, but keep hearing from others that they are the ones that are battling the Whiskers instead of the Commandos.

jacques-b-nimble: It seems like Pronger is very intelligent with MM show, but I did post a topic on another forum asking who the real Daisy is on the MM homepage where you click on to "Meet the Meerkats" and one of those meerkats is Daisy. Pronger answered my question by saying that she is Super Furry, but you stated that the book said she died, but you also say that the MM Daisy is still around. Now, is the Daisy on the link "Meet the Meerkats" the Meerkat Manor Daisy? If so, then then how long has it been since the other Daisy (Super Furry) was around on the show? And, if it was Super Furry, then how can she be dead is she is still around? Sorry about asking to many questions, but would really like to know everything so I can be prepared for seasnon 4.

Hi Phil, I will try to answer some of your questions. 1) The real Wilson Commando was too young to go roving in early 2007 when Mozart was alive, so Wilson on MM was played by a different kat. I don't know who. It could very well be several different meerkats. Whether we like it or not, MM does this a lot (people can tell by studying their dye marks.) It's upsetting when we first learn this and many people get angry, but we might as well get used to it because it will continue. 2) To read about the Vivian (whose dominants Rhian/Nikita and Jim Bob/Hannibal played DF and DM of the Commandos on MM), cut and paste this address into your browser and scroll down to the Vivian section:

Both founder Vivian and Rhian/Nikita were extraordinarily successful dominant females. Pronker and other senior members can name others. We know very few of them because MM concentrates on the Whiskers and only a couple of their nearby rival mobs. 3) Daisy: Super Furry Animal played Daisy in MM seasons 1 & 2. She died and is played by a different kat in season 3 -- read rattiesrules post above. I just looked on "Meet the Meerkats" page and didn't see Daisy pictured.

Yes Vivian was a remarkable 'kat...I don't know why she isn't acknowledged on the show or anything...and yes the Vivians played the Commandos on the show, but now that the Vivians are gone and the Commandos are nearby, they may be presented on the show...especially with Whisker born Zarathustra as their DM and his followers of Miles, Baker, and K*a*r*i*m....

As for the Daisy picture in Meet the Meerkats...I think they are using an old picture of Super Furry Animal

Jim Bob died last year. There is a thread about it here somewhere. It's titled something like "does anybody care about Hannibal?".

You are right the researchers thought he was a sweetie, not mean at all.

The "real" Hannibal Vivian (VVM075) passed last year, as well. He was not one eyed. The Vivian group was last seen in December 2007. They were decimated by disease. Jim Bob, the long-term Vivian DM, was born a Young One (VYM059). The references are from the KMP naming lists for 2007. DMs migrate from their natal group, where almost all females are their close relatives, to other groups.

yeah, but it still does not make sesnse, if the Vivien's were the ones fighting the Whiskers on the shows but were made-out to be the commandoes, then wouldn't the one-eyed hanibal be part of the Vivien's group and not part of the Commandoes, because he was shown in the episodes? Nonetheless, since I am pretty sure when season 4 will air, I will pay closer attention from the first episode to the last one.

The "Commandos" that were shown on MM was really the Vivians (as a side note, some Vivian borns we are introduced to are Zaphod, Youssarian and Alexander)

Jim Bob was born in the Young Ones group...He Immigrated into the Vivians and became their DM...He has 1 eye...The Show changed his name to Hannibal and changed Rhian's name to Nikita...He died last year......

There was a Hannibal born in the Vivians, with 2 eyes...He emigrated out and was at the Balrog group for a few days and left them...He died as well...He wasn't shown on the show...
