After watching the first episode I was a bit disappointed in the lack of fluidity of the story, it seemed choppy and unpolished. However, after watching last night’s episode (with my teenage boys in tow) I’m ready to give the show two thumbs up and committed viewer-ship. My boys thoroughly enjoyed the show and immediately took to the internet to research more on professional archaeology. It sparked their interest, it sparked my interest and I watch very little television. I thought the host did a great job keeping us captivated. There were a few moments where I questioned the story line but at the end of the show you have to remember it’s about entertainment. I look forward to next week’s episode!! Congrats to Discovery and to Mr. Moore for finally bringing a bit of “discovery” back to the Discovery Channel.

I think it is the 'entertainment' factor that I am left with. I just watched the 'Hidden Mummy' episode and found that the conclusion of the show was completely unfounded. It made for a good story, but there was close to no evidence to prove the conclusion. As such, I can only imagine this show is not meant to be taken seriously, but does make for good viewing.

I've watched the Egypt episode and the Maya Mystery episode...wow, perhaps as a dedicated documentary junkie and history buff, my hopes were just a bit too high for this show. I was shocked by the conclusions Scotty made with such glaring gaps in the hard science and lack of down and dirty evidence. The stories are 'skeletal' at best (feel free to moan! Razz )...however, if the show inspires the younger viewers to fire up their imaginations and scour the internet for more info then I hope Scotty keeps sleuthing.

Nice to hear that I'm not the only parent watching the show with their child(ren)! My daugher CAN'T WAIT for each new episode and bugs me until we sit down and select it on our DVR!
