Basically we start out by laying Road base which is dirt, then slap down some tack and then lay steaming hot asphalt on top. And all this in 105 degree sun. Paint beading at Ogden Air Logistics Center (Hill AFB). High-power equipment with lots of tiny plastic beads used to remove paint from Air Force aircraft (think sandblasting on steroids). Way dirty, but fun!

Caser for franks westates services inc. in Vernal,Utah.

The job is on a oil rig. Casers are on call 24/7. They go out to rig and torque casing pipe and put in oil well. It's a dirty, greasy, muddy job. Sometimes the jobs can last upwards to 100 hours with little sleep. I think it would be a job you would enjoy trying out.

In Beautiful southern Utah (Washington County)City of St. George, we have a several thousand acre wild life reserve who has a keeper and Biologist Justin Neighbor, who also happens to be Southern Utahs birds of pray rehabilitator. Cleaning the reserve of it's tons of trash annually from it's thousands of visiting tourists is pretty dirty, but gutting a wild Jackrabbit to feed a golden eagle who was hit by a car and on it's way back to health, care, and well being, real dirty.

They work right along side smoldering red hot iron as it is cast. When they leave the plant, any part of the skin that is not covered with clothes is JET BLACK! Face, neck, hands, etc...

Gravel Masters, Gravel Technician, Ogden, UT (801)731-4616.
Wanna get dirty Mike? Come level gravel in new home construction here in Utah.
We are a small family owned business based out of Ogden. We own 5 conveyor trucks that convey everything from gravel to sand and mulch.
Our drivers run the trucks by remote control but their not the dirty ones.
Our gravel technicians (glorified name for laborers) get down into the foundations and level the gravel. As the rock is shot into the basement a gravel tech will take their rake and level the gravel in the basements or slab on grades of new homes.
Each season brings a new set of problems. Winter is snow and straw, spring is mud, mud, mud, summer is hot and dusty and fall brings back the moisture.
Gravel is placed below the new homes so that water that runs underground won't crack the cement foundation after the home is built. Our guys have to very precise with the leveling so that the concrete isn't uneven when it is poured.
Hey Mike, we'll see ya in the rocks, if you think you can handle it!

Hi!!! My name is Maggie Avila. My family and i own a dairy farm. we would like to invite the Dirty Jobs crew to get messy!!! every week we have to muck out the goat stalls. since it is winter right now all the goat pee is frozen to the ground along with jucy terds. what we do is we load all the poo and urin saturated shavings into wheel bueros and push it to the side of the barn. after that we fling it out to the fild with a cool tractor. we milk our girl goats every morning and every night, you could help us with that. you get to squeez goat titties. then we make cheeze and yogurt with it. you could also meet all our horny goats! buster fly and hope. they are called the horny goats because they pee all over the place and do other stuff that is way byond vulgar. we will make sure that when you come that you get to give them baths!! if you come in the spring then you can see all the cute babies! XD so you guys should totaly come and get dirty!!! did i mention that if you touch a horny goat that you will smell like him for a week? so yah totaly decide to come up to our ranch in park city utah!!!
Thanks For your time!!!

There are several great ideas for the dirtiest Jobs here in Utah, But to add one to the list, There are a few companies around the state that do this same job, but here in Brigham City Utah we have a company that specializes in Emergency Hazard Clean-up. I don't work there myself but I have a good friend who works for them, and here is the contact information for that business.

I agree the brine shrimp harvest on the Great Salt Lake would make a great dirty job. For information, go to http://wildlife.utah.gov/gsl/brineshrimp/

There are also a number of minerals harvested from the Great Salt Lake including salt and potash. Try these websites: www.gslminerals.com and http://ut.water.usgs.gov/greatsaltlake/index.html

I grew up as a coal miner's daughter...I'm not sure that anyone can convince me that there is a job that is dirtier than that! My dad would come home covered from head to toe with coal dust.

Carbon County/Emery County is the best place to find the mining community. I think it would be awesome to show the daily goings of the mine, the miners, the safety measures they have to take to ensure an other days work not to mention the honor it would give the men and women who go under ground to help provide the rest of us with a form of energy.

DIVISION OF OIL, GAS & MINING
1594 West North Temple, Suite 1210
Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5801
(801) 538-5340
Fax (801) 359-3940

Coal Operators list with contact information for each company.

I am willing to do any other research on the subject if needed.

Since I am newer to this show, I am not sure everything that has been done, but to help in your quest to cover all fifty states, here are some ideas for Utah!

::Rural Springville Ut {50 miles south of Salt Lake City} is home to a Stouffers Frozen Food plant, I'm sure they have some dirty jobs!
::Also in Springville it a Nestle Factory, can't say no to chocolate!
::In Pleasant Grove Ut {40 miles south of Salt Lake City} there is a Noni Juice Plant
::Or perhaps a little clean up after a REAL soccer game, those soccer fans I tell ya!
::Changing of the beautiful billboards along our lovely freeways.
::Cleaning of our TRAX, school bus, or public bus after the weekend or school field trips
That's all I have, nothing to spectacular, oh well, I still say the dirtiest job is being Mike Rowe!

I lived part of a year out by the SLC airport and was amazed to awake to the awful smell of this 'harvest'. I'm sure there is some dirt in there someplace.

Another Dirty Job is as a wildland fire fighter. Every year in April there is a wildfire training school in Richfield, UT. The fire fighters do a controled burn to practice on. You should come here. You should contact the US Forest Service or BLM for more information
