Most of the eavning i spend the night crawling under over and in the building through water mud and the occasinal racoon. Also you have to deal with lighting electronics hauling dirt gravel to fill the swamped out door areas. And of course there are a few things that i wont tell u yet because it ruins the surprise but hey ill see u if u choose this one ^^ its in Crest Hill Illinois the website is WWW.STATESVILLE.ORG and the number is 815-263-4803

Hi All. My suggestion is for Mike to spend a day at the State of Illinois lab in Springfield, Il. The lab tests suspected rabid animals such as raccoons, skunks, bats, dogs, etc.. To perform the tests, the head of the aminal is sent in to the lab. I knew a guy that did it but he has a different job now but often commented of nasty it was, especially after the heads had ages for a week or so. The lab also test for ecoli bacteria, which involves the testing of human #2.

I could get the exact title of the job is you like.

Mike,

Try tuckpointing!!!!!! You won't be disappointed in the dirt in which you would collect through the day. The most fun is grinding mortar all day, and I can't forget pressure washing masonry, with all the acids and chemicals we use. You would love it. Ohhhh yeah, I hope you would like to ride the side of a skyscraper in downtown Chicago. I can give you a whole list of probably 30-40 contractors who work here, so all you have to do is e_mail me.

Hi Mike. I wanted to elaborate on an idea from another poster. You should check out a Paving Contractor or Sealcoating contractor. However, use a reputable company.(Parrish doesnt even have a website) Parrish is known for cheating labor unions in the area. Just check with the laborer's local 1035 out of Marengo. Parrish Paving is also know for scams and poor work. They dont belong to the BBB or any chambers of commerce. Another example, using oil based sealer is a scam and illegal. Parking Lot Services, Inc. Would be a much better choice. This company has been ranked by Pavement Magazine as a "Top 100" in the USA Paving contractor and sealcoating contractor. Parking Lot Services was also named the Brewer "2006 Contractor of the year" for the entire country. Parking Lot Services is located in Woodstock, IL. Parking Lot Services has been in business since 1974 and is a family owned and operated company. Phil Sr, will be more famous then Pauly Sr. GUARANTEED! Think George (From Seinfeld mixed with George W Bush Turn Moto Guzzi enthusiast) The guy is comical. Mike, come join the premier paving company in McHenry County.
Another idea-- Go visit an asphalt Plant. Curran Contracting in McHenry would be a good one.

Hi Mike and crew,
Train derailment clean up and any cargo unsuitable for transport/ G&T Enter./ South Holland ,IL
Alot of people don't realize how much work goes into getting products to stores. Alot of it is done by train. Well when they crash it is a mess. Just imagine 70 train car with all their cargo scattered acrost some field in the middle of no where. Trust me it can be very dirty and exciting. When there are no train crashes we are transfering or adjusting cargo in trucks and trains. From steel to animal feed, food(can be nasty), machinery, clay, barrels of grease, chemicals, paper, lard, and anything you can pretty much think of. too much to list. Well i hope to hear from you guys and maybe I'll see you around.
Love the show! Bye

Beef Producer/Grain Producer. Milledgeville, IL. Carroll county.

My uncle operates a farm along with me and my cousin, we raise beef cattle and also grow corn. Some of the corn we grow goes to cattle feed but we have been selling most of it lately since the corn market has been quite high. Anyway, most of our dirtiest jobs are during the spring because of the rain and the ground thawing.

My cousin and I thought that you might enjoy helping sort and vaccinate cattle right after a long spring rain, or as the rest of the snow melts. Also you could help us bed the cattle sheds. We have to feed cattle everyday too, that can get pretty dog gone dirty too.

I know you do alot of farming jobs but hey they are all dirty.

My 21yr old son works for Brigestone Tire in Bolingbrook, Illinois. These guys are throwing tires of all sizes their whole shift long. His hands are stained with black rubber marks and his clothes never come clean. And don't get me started about the how he smells when he gets home.

This is a real look at the labor force at it's best.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Mike,
How about a company in Streator, IL called Pre-Stress? They build bridge beams and other neccessities for highways, interstates, etc. It is a dirty/dangerous job involving stretching steel cables to their maximum tensile atrength, concrete, and moving these behemoths. I think people would find it interesting to see how these objects they drive over every day are made and what it takes to build them.

Blue Island Fire Department
Blue Island IL 60406

We are avid watchers of Dirty Jobs.
We did see an episode with a Fire department but were very disappointed.
In the next few months, the Blue Island Fire Department will be aquiring some old houses in town for training purposes. I feel that they can show Mike what a "truly" Dirty Job Firefighters have. They will be training in the homes for several days and would love to have the crew on for a "real" day of training in Fire Suppression, Extrication, Search & Rescue, Flashover Simulations, and of course Clean Up.

Come join us in the Island...Blue Island that is.

Guardian Mold Prevent Corp. is a company servicing the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana areas.

They remove mold from residential and comercial properties. The jobs are obviously extremely dirty. The technicians see everthing from entire homes that are totally infested with mold, to attic spaces that are tight and hard to move in.

The work requires the techs to spend hours at a time in full body tyvek suits, full face respirators, and gloves.

Mike could possibly get involved in a mold removal project. Possibly even demonstrate how to perform Dry Ice Blasting.

I work as a lunchroom/playground supervisor at an elementary school in Swansea Illinois. I'd like for Mike to come to the school and be a janitor. This may not sound like a "dirty job" but I think our janitor would definitely say it is a dirty job. Just imagine the different "dirty jobs" that need to be done in a school full of kids from Kindergarten thru 8th grade. Taco day in the cafeteria is a really messy day.

Job Title is Auto Body and Paint Technician
Cowden’s Auto Body Inc., Girard, Illinois 62640

If Mike accepts this dirty job, he will repair a heavily damaged car by replacing the rear clip top body section. Mike will have two cars; one with a good front and one with a good rear. Mike will cut off the bad section of one car and replace with the good section from the other car.

To simplify, Mike will take two wrecked cars and from them, make one good car.

Mike will get dirty removing the interior, glass, rear suspension, exhaust, gas tank and all under-body parts from the damaged car. He will grind paint, remove rust-proofing, undercoating and sound deadeners. He will then install the rear body section requiring him to cut, fit, measure and weld. To complete the job, Mike will grind, sand, prime, paint and reinstall all bolted parts.

Equipment Mike will be using to accomplish this amazing feat will be frame bench, uni-body measuring system, saws-all, wire-feed welder, grinder, wire brushes, sanders, paint gun, drills and assorted hand tools. Of course all under my watchful, critical eyes.

Attached are photos of a current project. This is a 2006 Cadillac SRX. It is now in the paint shop and will be reassembled after paint.

I look forward to having Mike get dirty with us at Cowden’s Auto Body, Inc. in Girard, Illinois.

I grew up in Central Illinois, which has a large Amish Community. One town is Arthur, IL.With all of the Amish horse and buggies the streets get dirty (and very stinky). Someone has to clean up after the horses. Horse poop is also called "Road Apples". There are also stalls where the Amish hitch up there buggies while they do their shopping and run errands. These also need to be cleaned on a regular basis. I'd like to see Mike spend a day in Amish country scooping up "Road Apples!

Veterinary Technician/ Veterinary Staff
Animal Care Center of Lake Villa, Lake Villa, IL

With the rising costs of veterinary services, it is only appropriate for Mike and the crew to come out and show the audience what is going on in the back of the clinic. We do lab tests, including several that use your pet's poo, urine, ear swabs (scan for mites) and other bodily functions. We also do major surgeries, just as dog and cat neutering/spay, which involves quite a few dirty things. We also express anal glads, which i know a groomer showed on an episode before, BUT she didn't do it correctly. Plus usually when we see a pet for expressing anal glands, they also have infections or the liquid has become clay like.
There are PLENTY of other dirty jobs just in one veterinary clinic, and you should come out and get a taste! not literally of course mike ;P This will definitly let the viewer have a better appreciation for what thier local vet does for thier beloved pets.

How about serving as a Pastor for a day?

Though, at first glance, this may not be dirty in the same way we've come to know and love Dirty Jobs, I can promise you that this job is dirtier than you might think.

People who are sick, people who are lonely and unloved, people who love you and people who hate you, people with sins great and small -- that's a dirty job!

St John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, IL would love to host you as you investigate the Dirty Job of Pastor.

I've seen these car rebuilds before, worked for a guy who did this, and I can tell you it's a dirty job alright. It's a neat process that most people never see. The cars get cut into pieces and re-assembled, making one good car out of what would normally just go to the junkyard. Sometimes rebuilders get a bad rap, but if it's done right the cars are perfectly safe and you can get a nice car for less money. I'd like to see Mike Rowe get dirty doing this job.
