hey man, i got some info on that the police now are developing a smart hand gun it has a sensor in the grip and a micro chip in the handle and each gun is registerd to a officer so if a criminal or anybody else gets a hold of it it will lock up the gun and fry the comp system so the dun is useless wich i think is kinda dumb
I've heard of a couple of better implimentations of limiting the use of a firearm. At least one manufacture was working a chip inside the grip that identified the user via the hand grip. Another manufacturer was developing a gun that could only be fired if the user was wearing a bracelet/watch or a ring that corresponded to the gun but looked like normal gear and did not automatically associate itself with the gun.
Beyond these safety implimentations the use of computers just to compute the basic balistics has significantly advanced the use of firearms, from small pistols up to massive artillery. The battleships of WWII had one of the first mechanical computer system on board to compute fire solutions, for example. Now the Aegis missile platforms are entirely reliant upon their technology for firing solutions of their weapons.
