We just got this channel in canada and so far I have to say it isn't very good. Is it always all about new wars? All I have seen over the last couple of days is pro Iraq, and war on terror shows.

Maybe its just me but I thought there would be more historical military shows. not just US flag waving.

later Confused

Answer : It s not always about new wars their is tons of stuff on WW-2, Vietnam ect. Check the listings you all see that their is a plethora of different subject matter regarding military issues.

Answer : The war on terrorism is the military issue of the time so why should it not be covered. If by pro you mean legitimizing not at all (even though I happen top agree with U.S. preventative foreign policy). I think you would be hard pressed to support the misconception thatt eh N.Y. Times (renownly anti current adminstration) is putting out in your mispreception pro current U.S. adsminstration rhetoric.

Answer : Yes it s just you. Specifically its just you voicing your misperceptions centric upon your group think originated, anti American motivation biases. Biases that from my observation, seem to run rampant in Canada I might add. Now if you would like to debate the legitimacy regarding the U.S. doctrine of prevention I d be more then happy too do so my handle on yahoo is "dereserch" but please don’t expect discovery channel to adopt a program listing that regurgitates your biases back at you. Thanks.

I believe what sir-isaac is trying to say is that there are other eras to explore like the middle ages, the age of the Romans. I think some of these 20th century wars are overrate a little because that is all they talk about like we automatically woke up in the 20th century without any other regards to other historical military engagements.

Now, that is not biased. I am proud to be an american but the whole world does not revolve around the United States. Albeit, that the United States is the most powerful nation, that only lost one military conflict in its military resume, but lashing out with xenophobic remarks is not the way to debate any subject. You may side with the conservatives saying that democracy is the only way to peace. I say that is a pile of trash. Aristotle, one of the founders of democracy, said that democracy is not for every state. All governments are legitimate, but it is the poor applications of them that bring them their negative connotations. Anyway, I am sorry that I am rambling on about political debates when this forum was ment for military discussions,so I bid ado to my peers

the reason they have more things on Iraq is because it is a war that is changing our lives and should be televised more

well to me its just so-so..

great,hardly..
shows the same programs over and over.. yawn..
does do alot of american flag waving.. -an american myself-

i'm sure he'd like to see how his forces are doing in Afghanistan, they have impressive nipers, wouldnt mind deploying with a few of their forces again.. they should be proud of JTF2,an very impressive group of troopers.

i'm sure other folks would like to see how other armed forces train. the same training shows over and over is rather boring..yawn..

possibly show the tank shooting competition that happen every now and then, or the shoot-offs that some countries armed forces compete in, possibly a program that lists all the aircraft shot down outside of a conflict..
yeah, theres lots of things they could do..
but seeing pretty much the same thing day after day yawn..

the only show that brought me back to the good ol days was the halo school program.. ah what fun that was..

I've just watched two hours of the Military Channel and it was all WWII stuff. Before that, it was WWI on the eastern front. I didn't see anything on the Iraq war.

Hm is it just me, or are the sounds from the new "art of war" show the same as the sounds in Red Alert 1?
