I hope this is how to make a show suggestion...if not, my apology! How about a weed whacker trimming grass and weeds. We happen to make an after market trimmer head with an interesting feature of a pivoting post head. (PivoTrim). We would be happy to send one for testing.
Hey there! How's it going? First of all I love the show! It's amazing. I would really like to see an optical sorting machine in action. There is a cranberry sorting machine at the ocean spray factory in Mass. But I think any one sorting some cool stuff at high speeds would be awesome. Hope you like and use the idea.
My twelve year old son has a request: He would like to see what a nail gun would look like on a high speed camera. It would be interesting to see the differences between a pneumatic, an electric, and a cartridge-fired nail gun.
I own a screen printing shop and would love to see my embroidery machine slowed down to see how the needle and the bobbin tie off stitches. Love the show Thanks
Now that nascar season is over there is only the discovery channel to watch on sundays so is it possible to mix the two with time warp ie. Pit Stops alot happens in 12 seconds.
I own a machine shop and would love to have you guys come out and time warp the machining process. We spin cutting tools up to 10,000 RPM and cut through metal at speeds up to 500 inches per minute. The chips of metal fly off of the cutter so fast that when they hit the side wall of the machine they sound like hail on a tin roof or almost like a ratchet. Machining steel is also interesting because the chips come out a blue color because of the heat built up. It would be interesting to see the color of the metal change from dark gray to blue as the chip is cut off of the workpiece. What do you say? email me at mike@jetblackaircraft.com if you're interested.
Jeff, please have a look at the high speed machining of aluminum post I just added. I work for one of the leading international machine tool manufactures and can easily set this up just about anywhere in the country. Thanks.
Hey Jeff i was (i got laid off in this recession and need a job!) an auto mechanic and i use an impact gun to take off lug nuts. this gun throws amazing power down, over 1000 foot lbs in a few seconds. and then, to prevent brake pulsations from improperly tightened wheels, i used what is called a torque stick. this stick is used in conjunction with the gun to bring that astronomical 1000 foot pounds of torque down to the manufacturer's required lugnut torque of approximately 75-100 foot pounds. the stick works by twisting a considerable amount for a few nanoseconds so the fierce blow delivered by the gun doesn't make it to the lugnut. this twist is unseen by me.. if you could slow this whole process down, it might be interesting to see the stick taking 1500 beats per minute of 1000 foot pound beats. i'm sure it twists right well. hey and if you could include me in this gig in some way that would be fantabulous, however if not at least try to get it on the show so i can see what's happening. hey thanks man. I wana see a professional motocross racer ride through turns jumps and getting the holeshot how the bike reacts (shocks, frame) and how the rider reacts(jerking, technique)
We’ve all must of hit a pothole/ curb in our cars. I would love to see it happen to the following: 1.a car with a aluminum custom wheel vs pothole 2.a standard steel wheel and tire vs pothole 3.Motorcycle wheel and tire vs ppothole 4.Tractor trailer wheel vs curb 5.Off road wheel vs rock
