I recently bought the Pilates bodyband kit which has three bodybands, with different levels of resistance and it came with an exericse video. The instructor was Ana Caban. The exercises for the arms were good but there wasn't much emphasis placed on abs or legs using the bands. Does anyone know of another Pilates series that I can try that incorporates the bands? I saw infomercials for both Zone Pilates (which uses a fitness ring) and Winsor Pilates (which always tempts me). The only reason I haven't bought Mari Winsor's program is becuase its sooooo expensive.
a fitness ring is not painful. it's like a large plastic/elastic ring that can be used to add resistance to and/or increase the intensity of some pilates-based exercises...
Leslie Sansone has a You Can Do It Pilates tape out. She goes through many pilates moves and tells you how to do them, than she has a workout with the moves and than what she calls a challenge workout where you use one of her stretch bands, I use a dynaband that I have, you could use any stretchie band. I also use the ring and have 3 tapes by Stott pilates which I use with it along with the one that came with it.(Gaiam) My daughter bought the Zone Pilate system and loves it, says it give her some arm ones but mostly legs and ab.
