Okay, my cat acts weird sometimes... He will sometimes just bite when someone is petting him.
So, I went to here http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/e-vets/catbehavior/cataggression2.html
in hopes that I could find a way to stop it or why he does it... And I found out that it might be that he doesn't want to be pet.
I read the 4 bullets that each stated things that cats usually do when they don't want to be pet. And Jasper (my cat)doesn't do any of those when he bites, but he does move his head under my hand to be pet (the fourth bullet says that that is what they do when they don't) so I am totally confused. Like today I was petting him, he was purring and acted really happy, then he bit my hand... He isn't a young cat so, I am pretty sure it isn't that he is playful... Please help. ^.^ Thanks.

Hmmmm, how do I put this politely? Have you ever been around when two cats are mating? Your cat is biting as a reaction to becoming aroused. This happens whether the cat is male or female, intact or not.

You can break this by giving him a sharp rap on the nose. This may sound cruel but your cat doesn't think it's cruel to bite you. It will only have to be done a few times but it does have to be hard enough for him to dislike it. If it's too gentle, he'll just think it's more foreplay. It has to be done very quickly too Roll Eyes, interrupting the bite if possible. Wait a minute or so and then start petting the cat again so he will know you aren't angry.

thats why i dont like cats they dont care about you atleast a dog wants to be with you and be petted. actually i think we shouldnt of domesticated them because if you think about it they arent pack animals(only lions) dogs are which makes them the perfect family pet.

plus litter boxes stink

my husband would agree with you pitt-man but I don't think cats are that bad. If you clean the litter box often enough like once a day then it doesn't stink.

i know all bout that biting thing when i was a kid i used to get watched by this old lady that had 2 cats and a dog i didnt mind the cats til they started really biting me so i stuck with the dog, but cleaning a litter box once a day is a pain now if i had 1 that cleaned itself it wouldnt be as bad. but like i said they arent really ment to be domesticated to me and they're mean.

Some cats are odd like that.

A sharp tap on the nose won't do any good. It's not going to teach him not to bite, it's going to teach him that your hand may hurt him or scare him, especially if your timing is off.

I have a suggestion, but I need to clarify a few things. When he bites, are you petting him for a few seconds and he just randomly turns around and bites you? Is he puring when he does this? Does he almost immediatly go back to being docile and wants you to continue petting him?

Well, I'm not to sure what this has to do with liking cats or the litter box smells but I had a male cat that did this aswell. I was told to get Bitter apple . When he bit me I just gave him 1 squirt right in his mouth. It only took 2 times with the bitter apple and he stoped. You can get bitter apple at any pet store.
Please be careful you do not get it in their eyes or yours.
