I believe that insurance companies should be banned from charging you for things you do in private and at home.
In the case of the man who almost lost his life because the insurance canciled, that action also should be outlawed. Insurance companies must be forced to pay for any operation even if they terminate his insurance they MUST be forced to pay for everything.
Those with-out insurance should get 100% the same care as those with.
I think its time we had a Privacy Omnibudsman and a Insurance overseer for the Federal Government.

In one respect, I agree that insurance should pay for all health care problems, but I know from personal experience that this is highly unlikely. With all the predictions of how advanced things will be in 2057, I submit that at that time, a Roomba would be intelligent enough to avoid being stepped on, so our subject would never fall out of the window, and need all that medical stuff.

I do agree that a more socialistic Insurance policy should be adopted by the world, let alone the United States. But there's a key piece of lingo that US government and Cooporations tend to disagree with in every way:
Socialism.
The American persepective on this tends to be, "I work, I earn my living, why share what is rightfully mine?"

The moment that Insurance companies "HAVE" to give everyone coverage, is the moment we all have to settle for Pig's organs that may or may not work. Do you want a blood product that's not properly screened? How about Generic medications that are only required to be 80% effective. Will washing your hands become optional for the medical professional?
How about instead of a Blue smock jockey meeting you in front of Wal-mart, you get someone in a White smock offering you a free physical if you fill out an application for a Wal-mart Premium Rx care credit card... ok THAT right there just gave ME the chills.
I better stop while I'm ahead.
