I'm not sure if this is the correction location to be entering this, but on the show I've noticed that it mentions about solar, wind, tidal, ethanol and fusion power. Why not harness the power of lightening storms? Isn't it possible to tap into electrical storms for power?

Sure we could, one problem, we can't find the storm in time, even if we do we would need thousands and thousands of rods to make sure they catch it, plus its not that much electricity, and average power plant makes tons more in a day.

No, the problem is there is no way to store that kind of voltage or even control. That kind of surge on any kind of powerline, capacitor, transformer, or battery will litterally blow it up.

rong again there are some power plants that actualy can create lightning the problem is that almost nothing can withstand the heat that comes from a real bolt of lightning wich is about 5times hotter than the surface of the sun

No, I'm not.

They CREATE (not store or capture) the lighting bolt by charging up huge metal globes, which then when brought close to anything grounded will discharge.
