The ASPCA shelter closest to where I live has lost a large portion of its funding. They have had to cut down on the time they are open, and on the number of animals they can keep.

It's very sad to hear. I have decided to donate more often, in order to help alleviate the cutbacks. Every week, I try to bring them at least a bag of litter or a bag of food, something like that. It helps defray their expenses a little.
