I'm just curious what is up with the foul language. My kids love to watch this show but I keep hearing damn and worse today. I know they usually bleep the "really bad" foul language but this is ridiculous. One of the new guys says damn every other word. I'm sure most of boys in America have heard all that mess by the age of 9 BUT mine hasn't and I'm not gonna start it now. In my opinion kids are learning too much too soon and that is a big part of the problems we have in America to begin with. It's a good show without the language. We usually dvr these shows and watch our favorites over and over again but I'm going to have to start previewing to see if they can even watch them. If this continues I will definitely not record or let my kids watch them nor will I watch them myself.

Did anyone else hear the guy say "g-d" the other night? I replayed it because I couldn't believe my ears. They bleep out everything else, but I distinctly heard it. I'm a Christian and it really bothers me to hear God's name taken in vain. I am going to complain to Discovery channel that they left that in.
I agree, I was shocked at Discovery not bleeping out G** D*** I too am a Christian and watch this with my family. Discovery, please don't make me stop watching this show because of the cuss words. I really enjoy the show, but I can't enjoy that.
I agree with those of you who don't like the foul language. When I think of Discovery Channel, I think of educational programs made by people educated enough to have a vocabulary extended past what we are hearing. I imagine in intense situations, things slip out, but it seems pretty constant and unnecessary. Otherwise, Discovery Channel just falls into the lump with all of the other trashy reality shows. When there is nothing else on to watch, I have always been able to rely on Discovery Channel to maintain high quality. Please don't change that!
they should redub the curse words, its easy enough to do. More kids could enjoy the show too, even though it airs at 10 where traditionally more adult shows with partial nudity and full on s bombs broadcast.
I've had it with these monkey fighting snakes on this monday to friday plane!
The way I look at the language is this. This is Discovery coming into their world. Their jobs. It is part of the excitement and danger the language comes from. You can't hardly ask them to clean it up just for viewers. It's there world. Discovery has a warning at the beginning.
My kids are very young, so this isn't a show I'd let them watch anyway (or stay up that late). Seems like the worst language is bleeped out anyway. The big thing for me is that you miss alot of dialogue behind the "bleeps."
MTB, you make a good point. I would just like to see the guys on the show try and clean it up. After a few years on TV and seeing the results, tone it back with the kids in mind. The past is done, just insight for next season.
What I don't get is why are all you parents soo worried about the language because in the begining of the show it says a warrning about the language. Also i don't believe that you should Criticize these people about their so called foul language, personally God D_ _ is not that bad and they are doing something that can easily cost them their lifes.
Ever hear of the FIRST AMENDMENT??? What does it GUARANTEE again??? FREE SPEECH! Nothing, absolutely nothing should be bleeped out. If you don't want your screaming little kiddies to be exposed to such things, that's fine. There are plenty of channels providing programming just for them (not that there aren't references there that children shouldn't be exposed to). Example- I've seen the commercials for the latest Madagascar movie. Some little weasel or something mistakes a bull for a cow and tries to milk it, pulling real hard on it's Pen...excuse me...pee pee. Are you telling me that's appropriate for overly protected rug rats? I don't see anything being done to keep me from being exposed to the relentless annoying screams of YOUR children everywhere I go. Society has sheltered your BLANKING kids from all of that constitutionally guaranteed BLANKING free speech , do as much for society by sheltering the rest of us from your SCREAMING BLANKING KIDS!
The fact that Storm Chasers is shown later at night along with a warning before hand about the content, would suggest that this isn't a show aimed at kids. With that in mind why should Discovery dumb down its show to please an audience it isn't even targeting? That would be like a childrens tv show switching to more adult themes and foul language because adults thought it was too childish.
I also don't think a lot of you are being realistic, next you'll be complaining about nature documentaries and demanding that the lions be more civil towards the other animals. Seriously if your offended by people saying the word god or damn, then probably best to head for your storm shelter and baton down the hatches, its not safe out here people are saying stuff that might be offensive.
Seriously people, first off, its a show that doesn't end until 11 on a Sunday night....Monday is a school day, why is your kid up watching this??
secondly, its got a language warning, to not expect foul language is like not expecting a thunderstorm to occur during an episode.
Thirdly...get over it, I hear kids swearing at work all the time and I work in a Catholic school....if your kid isn't hearing it on the TV, they most certaintly are hearing it somewhere else. I'd much rather have one of the chasers swear and explain to the kid that thats a bad word and I don't want him saying it than have some kid in their school say it only for them to think its a cool thing to say.
Well, that's Season 3 of StormChasers for you -- ten times more bleeped "f***s" than in Seasons 1 & 2, ten times more Jr. High personality mano-a-mano conflict, and ten times less science. Exactly what the teen boy audience wants.
Don't let it ever be said that the Discovery Channel marketing pimps don't know their business.

My 11 year old loves this show, and we like to watch it as a family and HE has started commenting on what is wrong with these people?
We have to send out young boy away to play while the show is on as well. They could do a lot better job in beeping...
This show isn't aimed at kids, the time its shown and the content warning before hand should kinda give it away a little. Like I said earlier why should Discovery alter the show to suit an audience it isn't even trying to target?
Frankly if your 11 year son is shocked by the mild language used on this show then I suspect you have a much larger issue, you'd have to be a social hermit living under the stairs to have not heard far worse on a daily basis by the age of 11, especially an 11 year old boy.

If you want to raise your kids with no standards go right ahead, but don't attack other people for choosing not to follow your lead.
I just woke up, and I can't work out if that was aimed at me. If it was then I don't have any kids, and have no plans to have any. If it wasn't aimed at me then, yeah totally, down with armchair parents or something.
1. It's called a remote. Change the channel, the beeps arent going to change. 2. Its on at 10pm on a Sunday night. I wasnt allowed to stay up that late on a school night when I was young. 3. They are chasing f-ing tornados. Ya, they are going to get worked up. If I am in a tornado, I'm going to be shouting more than "Oh my!".
So before you all try to further censor a show on cable, not aimed at kids and not in a child-friendly timeslot, think of us adults that dont mind. It helps convey the emotion of being in a tornado much better than a bunch of freaking beeps.

I totally agree with both sides, but I do feel when an adult swears that much even in an intense situation it makes them seem trashy and less educated. Will I stop watching this great show? No, but I will say that I would love the swearing to be cut in half.
