Okay, I think it is ridiculous that everyone gives Reed such a hard time when he is the most genuine on the show. He has a true passion for storm chasing that radiates throughout the program. I think it is sad that he is having problems with Joel and it's not Reed's fault. Reed's always been loud and a bit over the top, therefore, Joel should be used to it and if he's not he should confront Reed OFF SCREEN. Also, who cares if Reed is not into "science" all the time. What are you watching this show for? TO SEE TORNADOES!! That's what he does..videotapes them so viewers can watch safely from their homes! I'm not even going to try to get into Josh and his arrogant "Vortex" project. Get a life. You can't catch a tornado by yourself what makes you think 40 cars is going to make it easier?? That's right it won't grow up and realize that you're old and Reed is the new generation. Last but not least, I enjoy the language. They're in the middle of a frickin tornado I think we'd all say a little "damn" if not worse in that situation!
Sorry to vent but obviously something needed to be said because this forum is nothing but anti-Reed bitterness and negativity! Don't be negative like Joel! Dominating dominating dominating dominating dominating keep it up Reed!

its posts like this that annoy me the most. Reed now has his cheerleaders cause he's cool. NOT.
Reed does not have a true passion for storm chasing...he has a true passion for raising his adrenaline. Thats why its "insane" and why you need to "go nuts" to do this. If you have passion for something, its not insane.
As for Reed not being nito science....that si what storm chasing is all about. Sorry if you don't like that, but Storm Chasing's purpose is to study the weather to get a better understanding of it to save lives.
No one should get that close to a tornado simply so we can see them from home.
Secondly, its not Josh's "Vortex" project, he may be a big part of it, but the Vortex project is run by the Government in an effort to actually study the weather and hopefully gain something of it like real storm chasers do.
If being negative like Joel means being realistic, then I'll be negative any day of the week.

There are many reasons to chase storms. Reed has obviously made a business out of it. Good for him. He's also collecting data as he goes. What about his radar unit on the SRV? That's extremely innovative of him. He also has his data collecting pods. Saying that Reed has no passion for science is silly. At least he can fund his own research and get himself where he needs to be to collect data. It's not like he's sitting in a box staring at a computer on someone else's dime.
I commend Reed's enthusiasm for his vocation. He's like the Steve Irwin of storm chasing. Steve Irwin said once that people should do everything with enthusiasm and passion, hence my statement. All of you no-name, storm chasing-'scientists' should take a good long look in the mirror. Your appeal to science is obviously hiding something you are unwilling to acknowledge in yourselves.
"Storm Chasing's purpose is to study the weather to get a better understanding of it to save lives." I think you folks could use some serious help in your studies. It will be people like Reed who push the boundaries of meteorological research and get things done.

Well said Dr and storm chaser. I was going to write my own big statement, but you guys covered it. I just have to say how absolutely immature, childish, and supremely arrogant Reed's critics sound. Just idiots the lot of them.
