Did you notice the preview for next week? Joel and Reed were arguing.

Joel truthfully confronted Reed about his exaggeration and over-the-top emotional ejaculations, so Reed told Joel to get in another vehicle (in a tone like "I'm gonna take my ball and go home).

When Joel decided to sit out the TX/NM chase and wouldn't take the phone calls from Reed, I thought that Joel might be leaving the show.

What do you think? Can Reed handle Joel's strong presence on his team or will he dispatch Joel?

I think it's some synthetic made for TV drama. You must be the person the producers were hoping their suggestions and scripting would catch.

I don't watch Stormchasers for some scripted phony playing for the camera by the various team members, but that clearly seems to be tack that the producers decided to push for this season. I'll give it one more episode before I stop watching, but I don't have high hopes.

Stable, maybe. But he doesn't shout "LOOK AT ME!" the way Reed does.

Whatever personal issues they have, it's their problem. None of my business. If all of this is just trumped up for drama then I don't care. I don't watch for the personal issues. I watch to see storms and tornadoes. I don't give a weasel's backside about the interpersonal dynamics or the private lives of the people on screen.

Where is Reed's girlfriend? She's cute.

I don't really care for the bickering and drama. I like Reed's team because they get good weather shots. Personality, I tend to ingore.

I have to disagree a little. At it's base, yes the show is about tornadoes, but it's called storm chasers, so they are what makes the go tick. I want to know them personally, live and experience what they go through, so the personal touches actually make the show more whole. There a few other tornado series that have even been attempted, does anyone want to compare them?

Reed is expressive and thank goodness. He practically narates his part of the show. It is great. He gets you pumped up and lets the viewer in. He is raw and honest in his passion. I like the science and the excitement of the chase. I like how they get closer to tornadoes than any sane person would want to. Last Season, there was some drama and a little animosity. I think some of it is contrived and over the top in order to attract more viewers.

Although there were a few things last year that seemed inappropriate, it was bearable. While the tornado footage this season has been great. The animosity between characters is spoiling the show. The guy with the radar truck always seemed think he was better than every one else. He had his own show for a short time which seemed like it was thrown together to pacify him. It wasn't very good.

So why bring him back in one episode just to stir the pot some more. The show needs to grow up and quit pandering to the audience. Competitiveness is one thing but the personal issues need to be dealt with off camera. I think it is destroying the show.

Joel should have been with Reed. I'd be pretty sad missing out on something so ground breaking. But Joel made a good point, for him it's more casual, for Reed it's business, so you can't blame Joel for not wanting to be around. But, I bet he was there for that!

the only reason Joel is more casual is because Reed goes insane everytime a tornado touches the ground.

There wasn't any room for him in the Dominator which is why he isn't riding with them. The whole thing is bogus phone made for TV drama.

Joel just wasn't dominating any more. I like Joel though and its good to see him continuing the chase with the scout lads. I wouldn't mind seeing him work with Sean though, as Sean really needs a break right about now, the whole TIV2 situation is becoming quite heartbreaking to watch.

Joel made the right move.

He can now chase with some serious chasers who aren't constantly going nuts at every little second.

skywrnchsr509, what constitutes a 'serious chaser'? Is not everyone on the show a serious chaser. What do you have to do to be a serious chaser?

I agree that Reed is quite the drama queen but the guy gets the best shots. And now he gets the first data from inside an F3. That was awesome. Why does Sean stay with Josh? He will not get "The Shot" with Josh. He needs to get a little more extreme and go with Reed.

when I say serious chasers I mean serious people. The scout crew isn't going to go crazy over a minor tornado as evidenced by the show on Sunday. Put Reed in that same spot and you've got an instant 10 minute scream fest.

Yeah can't have people showing emotion while chasing tornadoes, it simply isn't acceptable. People should display Vulcan like control over their emotions at all times, I mean its not like they are chasing an awe inspiring force of nature, or anything as exciting as that...

Also, the chase vehicle would have been obliterated had they been inside the vortex as Reed claims. That truck doesn't even rock off of it's wheels.

Agreed about Sean going to join Joel's team. Josh, while getting lots of data for himself, hasn't done Sean a whole lot of good. AND Josh screwed up by not trusting his advisor (ep. 2). But, well, that's the personality you get with the position he is in. He had to make a choice and made the wrong one badly, twice.

Now for the whole Joel-Reed thing, yes, I think that is the scripted drama crap that producers think will make a good show. A little bit is fine, but they are really pulling at straws with the stuff (this is the Discovery Channel, not the Scripted Drama/Soaps channel.)

I love Reed's passion and excitement, true he does get worked up, but I think it's more fun to watch when he does. It would make me sad if Joel decided not to go back to Reed's team, I liked them together.

Joel outgrew the friendship (grew up as well) and realized he was losing hearing in the upper frequency ranges.

I understand Reed's enthusiasm and find myself going along with it at times, but he can also be very childish. Joel made the right decision.

I'm glad Joel is gone. Didn't care to look at his HUGE teeth and gums anymore.

He is on the show because he's a great chaser, and he's one of the better looking guys on the show over all, but I don't think anyone is watching because these guys are 'pretty.'
