Wing Tsun is originally from Hong Kong but most of its growth and development as of recent decades has been in Europe.

i think they should send the guys to germany to the main european training center at castle Langenzell.

i dont know how receptive the WT organization will be to it, but i sure think it would be cool.

i am suggesting Wing Tsun in place of Wing Chun because the WC community is a bit more fragmented and it would be hard to choose a concentrated area to have the guys train at, IMO.

The UK Wing Chun Association in Essex / London is worth checking out. Had I not moved 6,000 miles away, I would be training there, no doubts.

Given your screen name I can hazard an educated guess as to the system you are currently studying. Bujinkan by any chance?

Since I used to practice Wing Tsun(Dynamic Ving Tchun) I really would think it should be interesting to watch an episode of this quite widely spread martial arts form. There are quite a lot of schools or systems within the branch of Wing Tsun. The spelling vary a bit, but it's generally the same concept consistently still no matter which branch you finally choose.

The one that I think should be most interesting to watch in a future episode is the system developed(or refined maybe) by Emin Boztepe. The system he represents is EBMAS and has it's foundation in Wing Tsun, but he has to my knowledge added some techniques to make the system more realistic. I'm not so familiar with his system in particular, but the videos and testimonials I have taken part of seems at least interesting enough to make an episode out of.

In UFC's "childhood" I remember that Boztepe openly challenged one of the Gracies to an open fight, but as I remember Boztepe didn't really approve of the UFC rules. Or maybe he just didn't want to risk anything in case he got a whopping...In early UFC there where quite a lot of participants(maybe wannabes if you will) who practiced various exotic styles and heavily overestimated their capacity and therefore took quite a beating against the wrestlers, boxers, BJJ-guys and the street/bar fighters. It would be interesting to see what Jimmie and Doug think and how they would estimate the WT-system as a possible foundation or base for further training for participating in for instance UFC or Pride compared to other styles and systems after 5 days training with for instance Boztepe or maybe Leung Ting (even though I belive that the traditional WT is a bit to much focused on forms and chi sau rather than plain fighting to be a possible effective base for MMA, but's that only my humble opinion).

But, this suggestion depends on if there's going to be a second season of course. I haven't read so much in this forum so I maybe have missed out on some information. I do think the show is worth a sequel. At least one more season containing some styles overseen...

All the best!

Come to Florida and look up Karl Godwin. He's a third generation Wing Chun Sifu.

I spoke to the guys recently in Sydney. They said they would be doing a Wing Chun show next. (In fact I think they might be filming as I type).

They said it would be in HK, but they had no idea whose school it would be with. I think those details are sorted by the producers. Smile

I was training Wing Tsun for several years. I could say that it is one of the most powerful and direct (like kajukembo and krav maga) fighting systems.
I could propose to contact G.M. Leung Ting in China or G.M. Kernspecht in Langenzell, Germany, close to Heidelberg. Both are extremely nice persons.

When does the Wing Chun episode air? I know they're airing Thailand and India on the same day but they never said anything about Hong Kong. I think they also went to Cambodia too. Does anyone have any information?
