Hi All! I created this topic for those who have actually been on the show to discuss their experience w/ others who have had the same experience or viewers who want to know more about their experience.

My husband and I will be on the show next week, 4/9 "Ships that Pass in the Night" Smile

wow....you 2 so blessed to have the chance with Dr. Robi to save your marriage. The first step is the hardest; both agreeing to seek a professionial..and to "air" your issues..He obviously cares about you to do this and you obvioulsy care about him to do this too. She is impressive to say the least...I am on the verge of divorce here too....I have always held out hope but he sees no hope. He does not care to say the least. anyways, I wish you the best......I will look forward to the show weekly... maybe you can keep in touch...chenango.sky@verizon.net God Bless..

Hi sky_, believe it or not, I entered the show on a dare! After a particularly bad weekend of arguing, I told my husband I was desparate enough to enter us for the show, and he dared me! (he should really know better by now, lol) anyway, I got a call that same day, never expecting a response at all, and the rest is history. My husband was not keen on the idea AT ALL, but I believe that everything happens for a reason and that if we didn't do the show, I would always regret it. I also felt it was a great opportunity to focus on our relationship for an entire week without the daily distractions of work, kids, etc. We both had done some therapy, but as the Dr says, its only for 1 hr. per week, if that, and takes too long when couples are feeling so close to separating. We all seem to get into the same vicious cycle of not really hearing each other and this show (and the Dr.) FORCE you into another perspective and to really look at yourself and how you relate to your spouse. (during our week I referred to it as the "emotional torture chamber") In any event, it helped us get out of the rut we were in and hopefully we are on a much better path now. Have your husband watch the show and see what he thinks about it, maybe he would be willing to do some couples therapy or even "dare" you to apply for the show! Wink

Lots of makeup (and hair), yes! I too am an 80's girl, but thankfully only in my music taste!

Thank you for your response hun......I mentioned the show to my husband -- he laughed loudly..He thinks it is all an act..dont really happen....He really dose not care about much..funny how that never use to be for us....Glad to hear your "dare" paid off hun.. sounds like there was still some love left to save or he would of never dared you...Let him know I said congrat's to the both of you for taking such a personal step with your marriage to save it and be on TV to boot...sometimes men are not willing to see professional help as an option....as in my case..You are right when you say things happen for a reason...we wonder "why" when some things happen...sometimes answers with time and other times we never have a answer...I would of applied too. .......thank you for listening....I am sure you both received exceptional advice you will forever be able to use now....good luck....Congrat's again....

Hi longislandrock and b-girl70--

Do follow up and request to see your episode before it airs. Never hurts to keep people honestSmile

Did Robi spend all night in the trailer for you guys? Lots of hair and makeup time was involved...note:the makeup gal was quite niceSmile and Robi kept her very busy.

I wish she would have spent more time focusing on getting to know the real us. We were dissapointed as she was rarely around for us.

Lots of luck to you as individuals and your marriages. I will stay tuned for your episodes. You already prove you have a lot of heart to be willing to work on your marriages with such sincerity.

oh, i've followed up, and followed up and followed up...i don't think they should be allowed to tell you something that they do not know is fact or not! False representations to say the least. We weren't even told when our episode would air, i had to find out via the website. Not that I expect a TV show to "care" about us, but being truthful would be great for the show's reputation...

It seams you all forget how we meet Robi
We called her.I am part of one of the new season's couples that were helped by Dr. Robi. Although she didn't end up my "friend" at the end of the counseling, I didn't need that from her - I, as well as my husband, needed her counseling only - which we believe she provided to us very professionally and sincerely.

thegoldenpackage - I don't recall ever saying anything bad about the Dr...? She did help us and we are thankful for it. The only negative was that the director promised us things and did not follow through, then left the face of the earth. That is all. Anyway, I thought you wanted to "compare notes"? Everyone has their opinion/view of their personal experience on the show, positive or negative...

Good point, it was really about the product not about " the couple " because if you have been on the show you know its not about the individuals, they are making TV. And it is about making The Doc look good. I know this first hand because I asked the Doc about certain important things that happened when she was not around and she had no clue. And yes we were promised that we would be told when it was airing and get to see it prior, we were just that weeks " couple " . And yes inspite of her self directed personality and poorly dressing , she did help us. Remember it takes two takes for reality. And GP if you think she dresses nicely you prob think wifey number one should have taken back her 5 time cheating loser husband. In the trailer - all night , yeah right haha. But bottom line , it helped.

To LIR: Don't EVER call me WIFEY... and if you think YOU are perfect... gee, I can't wait to see YOUR episode... you sound like a GEM to be married to.... Anyway, yes, we were promised that we would see our episode before it aired and that promise didn't come thru... Maybe we are just pawns, but the point is we got some help.... I'm not going to stand for people like LIR ever - or again... or my husband's lying / cheating ... I think I can tell the difference now between an a-h*le and not.... So just be happy for what yo all got in the ways of help - regardless of the dress, time spent in your own home - etc. It's just a show on their end - but for me, I needed real help. Maybe you all didn't, But I did!!!! PLUS... It was my HUSBAND who wanted to mend the marriage and made the call to the company - NOT ME!!!!!... Take to heart what help you got for the price... That's what I'm taking to bed with ME.... everything that made ME a better person - screw everything - and everyone else!... I'm tired of all the hurtful word -so STOP IT!!!

b-girl70--I am seriously worried about all of you guys in the aftermaths of your shows. Can you contact the powers that B at the network to get some extra follow up help for our TV friend TheGoldenPackage? She writes "take to heart what help you got for the price.." Clearly their was a very deep price paid. But not with dollars.

Happy-Day, Thanks for your concern, but we are better than ever Smile I personally am not going to contact the network for TGP, however the Dr. did say we could contact her if need be and I am sure that offer was made to TGP as well if she feels the need.

I saw a few clips of tonight's show and the wife is really hot - total MILF (am I allowed to say that? sorry to offend anyone). Hubby would be crazy to mess that up! She's like Missouri (the "show me" state). I bet he'll come through. She wants it! Wink

Oops, re-read that and it could be taken the wrong way. I meant that the wife wants it to happen (that they'll work it out), not that she "wants it". Sorry. Good luck to everyone! God bless.

It's okay LIR... I got worked up when I saw that nickname because that's what the last GF of my husband called me when they were still together... But how could you have known...

Just a note to everyone, I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions - and mostly 99.9999999 percent of the people out there thinks that I am crazy for staying... and some even think that I'm hurting my children by staying... But speaking in my own defense, if someone is reaching out saying they need help, and want things to work out, and actually made this huge effort by putting his story on tv - then I want to give him that second - yet FINAL chance to redeem himself. There's been HUGE changes in our relationship and with the kids. It would never have happened if we tried conventional therapy - we needed that intense - face-to-face in order to get it out - what happened that made him go do what he did... Alot didn't air on the show - and the way it was edited sure made for great TV, but bottom line - we were helped... Who knows what the future holds - but we are working on making ourselves better so that we can be there for each other...

Good luck to all of you... To B-Girl - your episode was great... Good luck to you - glad your hubby is finally home for you....

b-girl70 - I watched your show last night but missed the final 5 minutes or so (my 1 year old woke up). I'm really glad to hear that you and your husband are doing well.

Hey couples from the show---Why was the show cancelled? Could it be that one of you is suing the show? If so, way to go and good luck. She is shameless in exploiting all of you, check out her website www.drrobiludwig.com She has pictures of you guys up on her website! Did you agree to that in your contracts? I'm a law student and I think she has gone too far.
