Getting my fall wardrobe together after a major raise at work. Just a couple things I thought I'd share...

I found a really fab pair of jeans at H&M for $40. I wear these jeans about 5 days a week (probably need to get another pair or two). H&M is a really great place for basics.

My favorite jacket, the Velvet Bella jacket in Riviera. J.Crew $160

Also from J.Crew, yellow satin Maryjanes $190

My favorite pair of heels, in chocolate brown suede (couldn't find the suede version on Zappos). I paid about $70 at DSW.

A satin trench in an orange copper color that is no longer available. Frown I bought it on sale for $98.

I also bought this top in black from Target by Alice Temperley. I love the detail in this sweater tank.

Stacy, on this afternoons show (don't know which episode, only that it comes on in the afternoon here in Colorado). Anyway, the woman you were making over is a hairdresser, starting her own hair-shop. She had long red wavy hair, but Nick cut it short. Anyway, she purchased a top that was like a chiffon cami top with pink roses, lacy and georgeous. You didn't like it at first. Anyway, I tried to catch the name of the store that she purchased it at. It looked like Nellia, or maybe Nellya. Something like that. Do you know who I'm talking about and the cami? Thanks

Cool shoes Cathlib. They look really cool. I bet you find the neatest stuff in the U.K.

Cool stuff you got sammijo and congrats on the raise.

I went back to marshalls and got 2 more sweaters. They are such a good deal and my size was getting scarce. I bet they will sell out within a week or so if the cool temps stick around.

Thanks, I-shop! I do like the stuff I've found in the UK, and I'm finding it easier to get things that really fit me well, without alterations. And I love mixing the things I have from the US with my new purchases, for outfits that aren't found on either side of the water!

The shoes are maybe the most comfortable heels I've had in ages. Maybe forever.

Cool, I guess thats the best of both worlds. I bet it was hard transitioning from living on this side of the ocean to the other side.

Since I am here I might as well state my latest find. I found tall boots with a heel that are not clunky or chunky that fit my stupid big calves. I am so happy. I got them at Target so they weren't expensive and they are from a brand that seems to hold up well. So, I am so happy about that.

Hey no problem. The sweaters were 40 bucks and 50 bucks. It depends on the brand or something. So just count on 50 plus tax to be safe. I don't know if they all have them tho. I would think so but maybe call them first if they are really far away. Mine is literally down the street from my neighborhood so I just browse sometimes when I stop at the bank. The boots are 37 bucks apiece. They are on the website. They are from the Isaac Mizrahi line and they are named Sarah. Hey that's also my niece's name. lol! I hope this helps. Smile

Your Welcome! I was in another Marshall's today, it's by south coast plaza and I was down by there so I checked it and they have the sweaters too. Maybe they all do. I also went in to Nordstroms Rack didn't see sweaters and was actually looking for brown flats but wound up with black flats and plum low heels by Facconable for 124 bucks for both. So I was pleased. I guess that was my latest find. lol. I need to stop creating reasons for posting finds. If you have a Rack you should check it out if you want good deals which it sounds like ya do. Can't beat a good deal. Smile

i got some rings in puerto rico but unfortunately the photos i took don't do them any justice. the lighting was off and my hand, after a 10 day trip, aren't exactly good looking. hey, they're big, they're not for everyone, or the faint of heart, ha ha but i'm in love and both times i've worn them people have stopped to ask me about them.

ilibaby,
im not sure what the rings contain ...they could be glass because of the size...the necklaces brown beads look like either brown glass or a stone called carnilian...the cream colored stones look to be agates...the metal is most likley silver plate over another metal...this jewelry is a great conversation starter!the rings are very fun! enjoy wearing them!

I stopped by a local discounter, and got lucky. Armani Collezioni, Italian made, single pleat, charcoal, wool calvary twill trousers for $35 (MSRP: $345). The best part of this find--the trousers were previously altered to my exact waist measurements!

Got this wrap dress:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&it...016#ebayphotohosting

yesterday, and it should be here today.

I'm bidding on another:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&it...010#ebayphotohosting

Which I tried on at French Connection a while ago. I won't get into a bid war over it, but if I can get it at a reasonable price, I'd be very pleased.

I've been fond of the look and the concept--just finding them at prices I could afford was another story. The FC one was originally over £100, which is a bit steep for an academic for a daytime dress. I tried it on and loved it last year, the Mackintosh rose design is one of my favourite patterns. But I couldn't quite justify it. So if I can get it for £25 or less....

The John Zack is iffy--it will probably end up over trousers, which is FINE.

EBAY! Type in your clothing size and it brings up everything available! Easier than going to the store to browse. Got a pair of pointy-toe black heeled ankle boots for $16.99. (Type in black ankle boot size 7 and you're there!)

For casual wear, Nautica has just introduced a couple of sport coats that come with their own vests. I can't wait until our store gets some. They look great.

*sigh* my clothing budget has been drastically reduced due to Christmas shopping and saving up for eye surgery similar to lasik. In the last month or so, I did score two v-neck sweaters at banana republic. I got the chocolate brown and the green, they were both on sale plus I had a %off coupon. I've worn both of them already and they are great, lightweight yet still warm enough!
I also splurged on a embroidered corduroy skirt from ann taylor, however it (and a sweater on major clearance) did earn me two $50 rewards cards on double points weekend! I'll use the rewards cards for Christmas shopping to save some cash!

britt, good luck with the saving. This article might give you a little inspiration--£650 is around $1300, and that's what she saved in two months of not buying clothes....I may start limiting myself only to things that must be replaced like underwear, bras and hosiery if that's the financial difference it makes!

We just paid off our 2 credit cards in full, and made the final car payment, so all we have now is the mortgage. We are paying an extra 50% off on that, and socking away $$ to replace DH car i
