Im not seeing anyone right now so this year for valentines day Instead of buying her a piece of jewelry I added a piece to my own collection. I found a mans cuff style sterling bracelet that has a square shaped natural white diamond embedded at the top of the bracelet. The bracelet retails in upper-scale jewelers for $210 and I found it at TJMAXX for 29.99!Happy Valentines to me!

On my way out of Nordstrom's the other day, a display of Jo Malone colognes caught my eye. I remembered that Jo's candles are one of Oprah's Favorite Things, so I decided to see what Jo's colognes smell like. There must have been 15 bottles of cologne to choose from, and even though I smelled probably half of them, I kept going back to the first one I smelled called Amber and Lavender. I got on her website and read out that there's a story behind each of her fragrances. The Amber and Lavender is a fragrance she made for her husband for their anniversary one year. It smells a tiny bit like men's cologne, but there's some underlying note that makes it very feminine. Of course I had to have a small bottle of it! Verrrrrrrrry nice! And my BF likes it on me, so it's a double bonuus! Wink

Well after deciding that I didn't need anything else right now, Talbots marked everything in the Outlet section of the website down to 50% current price, so I ordered 3 skirts, 3 pairs of pants and some more belts.

I found a wonderful pair of jeans at a company called Body Central. I just love them for their retro style. They have great prices on everything and a tone of "Ohm Peer" {sweeping motion under bust} tops. They are junior sizes so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Also, Honeysuckle glycerin soap at Whole Foods. Delicious!

Neutrogena Anti Wrinkle Intensive Moisturizing Treatment.

It was very well reviewed on a national news show {along with a number of much pricier creams} as the best for the money and since the line was on sale at Safeway, I got the facial cleansing wipes, the night cream and the moisturizer.

A long, silver prom dress with spaghetti staps and (thank goodness) NO padding built in to the top!!! (miraculous!)
SmileI will be able to hem it by about six inches so I dont trip on it (took clothing construction classes for a couple years) or maybe I'll just send it to my (expensive) neighboorhood cleaners have them hem and steam it...
Most prom dresses i looked for that i liked were $150+.. this one is $69.99 seriously. It is polyester but, thankfully doesn't look cheap. Plus, I am only going to wear it once, in all likelihood.

*friendly reminder to people with prom dresses: There are plenty of organizations that accept former prom and homecoming dresses for those who can't afford to go out and spend money on them. Or a friend a year or two below you, of similar build... Great way to get more than one wear out of the dresses.

garnetsue, thanks for pointing out that CJ Banks now has a shopping website. The store they have in these parts is in a mall I never go in (out of the way, etc.). I may shop from them a little more now that you can actually purchase from the website.

This Jacket at Orvis. I think I got the last large, but it still comes in medium.

I actually found it while hunting down an item for someone else, a skirt I think. I was not familiar with Orvis which seemed a bit preppy for me, but the cut and the pearl buttons on this jacket are really nice. Not every day I can buy a jacket and skunk spray on the same site!

In the small town I live in there are no stores with cute heels. So I shamelessly shop online, and the other day I found a site that has the cutest shoes of any site I've found so far. They have flats, stilettos, almost anything you could want. The site shows multiple views of the shoe, so you really get a chance to see it. Plus the shoes are REALLY affordable. I'm talking like $15-$50. And the sale items are even cheaper. I haven't ordered from them yet (can't make up my mind), so I don't know how the quality or how they fit, but they are definately the cutest ones I've ever seen.

I don't know how to make a link, but the site is www.gojane.com

I was on my way to buy ice cream.....and I bumped into the Taryn Rose sample sale in Beverly Hills. The only pair of boots I coveted last fall were just sitting there waiting for me... IN MY SIZE!! I almost fainted!

Originally $895, I purchased for $149. I plan to wear them with black tights, straight skirt, and banana republic sweater. And the best part? Besides getting them reduced by 83% - I had $ in my budget for them! I have been saving some "fun money" for all the recession sales! Here's a digital of my new fab find. Imelda Marcos can weep! Taryn Rose Suede boots

justdoinmything, did you ever order from that gojane website? They have the exact pair of wedges I am looking for (at only $15!), but I'm curious to know about their quality. Sometimes cheap shoes are awesome, and sometimes they're just cheap. What has your experience been?

I went leather jacket shopping with my friend last weekend. I bought a low hip length black lambskin jacket that buttons up the front and has a belt. It has a removable liner so it will work for most of spring and fall. While I was there, the salesperson convinced me to try on a cropped zip up jacket with the motorcycle collar in olive green. It isn't a color I would normally try but it did work. I also got a sheer scarf with a bit of the green and a few other blue and blue-green shades. My guy friend actually growled when I had it on. It will work with a lot of my summer clothes and should come in handy since our office is always freezing cold in summer.

I was also thinking of getting a new bike after our bike tour in Cozumel. After the jacket shopping (I also bought a white bag), we popped in at a department store and they had bikes on sale. I got a Schwinn with aluminum frame (very light) that is designed so the rider sits more upright so its very comfortable. It has 21 speeds and a shock on the front and under the seat. woo hoo.

I finally went shopping last weekend (thanks for the tips, Pres!). It was a little daunting at first as we live in Mexico now and I'm far from fluent in Spanish. (I'm taking classes.)

I bought two skirts and three tops. My favourite is a B&W print skirt with a sort-of tulip hem. I bought an aqua blue top with a twist and a seam under the bust to wear with it. I got a red and cream print skirt and a red tank to wear with it. The last purchase was a white v-neck button front blouse, as a replacement for a worn and stained blouse.

It felt great to get something new as all we've been buying is stuff for our new house. I'm a lot taller than most people here, so some items are just never gonna fit, but I got a lot of help in one store (despite the language barrier!) and it really helped. There was one outfit that was an also-ran but it didn't "sing" so back to the shelf it went.

Nice find on the boots. I recently sold one of my "latest finds," and purchased some jeans as a replacement. Currently, I'm trying to slim my closet down to a more manageable size.

I got the cutest dress at Super dollar store for $7. It is a halter, colors khaki green, black, and brown. It has the band that goes under the chest that shows off the smallest part of your body and then gently flairs away. This dress also has a built in underliner and is just past the knee. I wear a plus size and this was the regular price of this dress.

Hubby made me try it on as soon as he saw it and he couldn't keep his hands off as I modeled it. He said for me to go back and get all colors!!! Needless to say I plan to.

Macy's...two pairs (one black, one brown)pinstripe Michael Kors trousers for $30 each. They are JUST what I've been looking for and fit like a glove (or will once they're shortened).

I found some very interesting and unusual jeans. They are artist jeans. She paints them and signs them. I think their pretty cool looking, I ordered some and I'm waiting to receive them back.

Not to be offensive on your latest find, but the way the paint is placed would unflatter the thighs, I would think.

WOW. should i mention it took me 20 years to find it? i've tried so many~ i had stopped looking, but a MAC girl had it on, i bought it, tried it on at home, and it is sooo perfect, i think i'll be wearing it for a while, quite a departure from my usual pink or neutral lips.

The perfect super-dark denim pencil skirt, knee length, not too exaggerated in shape (which is why I haven't bought one to now). For £1.
