OMG. Just found out that Clinton is doing a line on QVC! I think it premieres in Mid May. I can't wait! I LOVE YOU CLINTON!

Clinton used to work at QVC. Folks over on the QVC boards think this is going to be interesting as QVC isn't really noted for stylish fashions. I think he was supposed to appear on one of the Denim & Co. shows. Not sure as I really don't watch QVC as much as I used to.

Denim & Co?! Amazing. It's a brand that's sold at Primark here in the UK.

Primark is one of the sort of 'disposable fashion' chains, where clothes are so cheap that some people wear them once and toss them. Literally, the most expensive thing they've got is about £20--a few years ago, I got an olive velvet blazer for £12.

In case it matters to anyone, I no longer shop at Primark, but only at stores that have joined onto the ethical trading partnerships, refusing to buy from sweatshop sources. Primark has one of the worst ethical ratings in the UK, both for its employees and for their suppliers.

As Denim & Co is implicated in that (they are a Primark exclusive), I will likely not buy one of their products until/unless Primark's rating changes.

cathlib, maybe there are two Denim & Co. brands, as I always thought it was a brand that was exclusive to QVC. Actually a lot of QVC brands are their own brands (Denim & Co; Dialogue; Citiknits; Sports Savvy; Quacker Factory). That being said, I'm sure a lot of their clothes are churned out by sweat shops.

Once I started caring again about how I look, I for the most part quit shopping for clothes from QVC. The bulk of their clothes are big and boxy, no structure. Think everything that S&C say don't do is the bulk of what QVC sells. That's why, even though Clinton used to work there, a lot of the QVC people think this is going to be interesting.

I'm sure that if Clinton has his own line of clothing on QVC, it will be the opposite of what you've described. I watch QVC when there's a silver jewelry show I want to see or a Kathy van Zeeland purse show, but I've never even been tempted to try any of the clothing. I was always afraid it would be way too hit or miss as far as fit goes. And I'd be really bummed out if something I really loved looked terrible on me.

I hope Clinton has some control over the styling--Denim & Co are boxy cut, and not flattering to the feminine shape.

I wonder about the Denim & Co being the same as Primark's Denim Company brand? Primark's PR states that Denim Company is their exclusive, and in branding, a little thing like an "ampersand" and "Co" instead of "Company" can make all the difference in copyrights. Anyone know?

Hmm. The labels sewn into the items, and the signage in the shops, says 'Denim & Co'. So I suppose it's hard to tell.

As much as I object to them on ethical grounds (which is a lot), and quality grounds (which is even more), I do have to say that at least the stuff sold here is not boxy or unflattering.

But the UK market, especially the Primark crowd, wouldn't tolerate that--it's usually the younger people who shop there, the 'disposable fashion' followers.

Well, they surely would not be caught dead in what QVC sells as Denim & Co.

Whether or not, I suppose it's entirely possible that the same label could be on entirely different types of garments, especially when sold in two distantly-removed countries and through completely different marketing channels.

I've never seen QVC either more than in passing while channel-surfing. The most extended view I ever had of it was during episodes of 'The Apprentice' (both US and UK versions).

cathlib, I don't think you have missed much by not watching QVC. There use to be a time in my life that I had it on 24/7 (hence my screen name). These days, lucky if I turn it on once a month. Use to check the 24-hour reviews, on-line, and I don't even do that much any more.

Nick Arrojo's haircare was showcased on QVC today. I guess the whole WNTW family is involved! Smile

Smile I never had cable until 2001, when I moved to a town in southern Kansas where you just couldn't get regular broadcast channels without it, and I only got the basic $10/month package. Then I was in a shared living situation for a while, and there was a HUGE cable pack (where I did start watching WNTW), but I have to say that more channel selection doesn't mean there's much worth watching.

With £120/year tv licence in the UK, I'm seriously considering giving up television when I move in June. At least trying it for six months, anyway, to see if I miss it all that much.

kdlindgren, Nick's been on QVC for at least a year now and Clinton use to work there ages ago, so it's sort of like he's coming full circle. I know a lot of the old host, models will come back with clothing lines, etc.

cathlib, I'm funny with TV/cable. When I don't have it, I want it but when I have it I rarely watch it. I should / need to get rid of it, again, but it seems like the only channels that I do watch on occassion are the cable channels (TLC, ESPN, HGTV). Where I live is funny too, in that all the local channels are in Charlotte but you can't seem to pick them up unless you have cable. Now my hometown which is only about 45 miles away, you can (or at least you use to) could pick up the Charlotte channels plus a bunch of other ones without cable.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered the Clinton Kelly top (currently sold out) and it's really cute. This is the first babydoll top that I have put on my body that I liked how I looked in it. Doesn't make me look pregnant, emphasizes the smallest part (waist). Does everything for the bod that S&C emphasize on the show. Given that it was QVC's Denim & Company line, I really wasn't holding out much hope (see my previous posts) but am glad I took a chance on the top.
