Ok well I admit I haven't done very much shopping for a while, so I'm trying to make up for it now so here goes: -Bought a really cute envelope clutch bag by Nine West in the patchwork design -2 pairs of sandals from Banana Republic-flat t-strap - 6 pairs of shoes from Tallcrest (yes I'm tall with big feet)! styles range from pewter flat ballerina slipper shoe, red patent wedge with 1 1/2 inch heel, silver flat, nude patent 3 inch peep toe pump, etc -cute long sleeved black/white pattern shift dress that's about mid-thigh length which I plan to wear with flat sandals -black pair of fitted knee length shorts -black funky cropped belted jacket by Liz Claiborne Plan on buying: -black patent pumps with chunky heel -dark denim jeans -knee length trench -red bikini -tall brown boots with 3inch heel Ok that's about it now....

Oh I see you've been going crazy with the ol credit card too...Good for you! Well I'm heading out the door but I will definitely have a look at what you've bought when I come back.
I love Zara though and Mango is great too, I also like H&M for cheaper items.

Ok now I've had a chance to look at your links. I must say you've got some great pieces and my favourites were: long white "maxi" sundress with the wedges, striped dress, black dress with platform heels, your sunglasses and loved all your shoes too.
I was laughing when I was looking at your links because it reminded me of Confessions of a Shopaholic and that entire series of books by Rebecca Kinsella. BTW They're currently filming that movie right now...
I must be blind because I didn't even notice that there was a previous thread below mine of favourite clothing purchases, so sorry about that...

oh, don't even mention it! people ask about carmindy's makeup after every episode, LOL the "black dress" is actually a tobacco brown, but it's funny, it must photograph black, you are the second person to call it that~ i am sooo not a shopaholic, though! LOL i do have a method to my madness and things must have a certain perimeter (it has to go with my wtw for my bodytype rules, as well as a flattering color for my skin) before they're considered. thank you for your kind feedback, though! i also buy twice a year: one for spring/summer, the other for fall/winter. i have been working on rebuilding my wardrobe and except for shoes and bags to update the clothes i am excited to say i have hung up my gloves in order to achieve a working wardrobe for my lifestyle/style. have a lovely day!

I am an avid shopper, but I have recently discovered thrifting/vintage clothing. Don't laugh, but it is 'amazing' the things people sell. I am really into the retro 70's style right now. I am into the colour, cut of clothing and accessories. I love vintage shopping just to get inspiration for outfits. Recently I bought 2 belts, both brown and leather. 1 with long gold buckle, the other was impresioned alligator with gold bukle. both very cute. I write about fashion in my blog and it is also linked to many other great fashion blogs. If you want to check it out, it is at: http://gascoigne-addict.blogspot.com

Hi Gorgeous Vintage & thrift stuff is cool. I'm not one laughing at you, I'm laughing with you at all the fab stuff other people give away (and laughing all the way to the bank at what I can get at thrift stores versus new retail prices!) I like to mix it up with vintage finds. My thing is they have to be genuinely attractive pieces that fit and flatter etc., not merely shock value. A costume is cool when you want a costume, but it's a real challenge to put together an outfit that works incorporating a vintage piece but isn't over the top. Like Cathlib says, the key is knowing what's appropriate for the occasion. BTW your blog is really well written.

And Toronto is one of my favourite North American cities--fond memories of being a BFA (music) student at York University in the early 80s!

Back to favourites--recently, I purchased a few pairs of M&S cargos, in all the colours except the midnight. These make me happier than any jeans I've ever owned. They fit well, feel great, and go with so much that I own, and for the price, they were good value. I am in one or the other of them any time I need a pair of casual trousers.

While I am not a fan of Walmart, their GEORGE line keeps getting better and better. You can look online for a huge selection of new pieces. I picked up a GEORGE sapphire blue satin blouse for fall and also a Metro7 brand grey/berry/yellow satin floral tunic. Both pieces combined were less than $30, I think, and are really cute and a nice quality. I also picked up an ADORABLE large twill giraffe print tote today at Target for $12. I will get it monogrammed and it will look like one of those expensive TOSS bags!

I recently picked up a pair of tan pants with a very tiny black plaid pattern... they're cut like dressier pants, but the pattern makes them more casual, so its nicer than wearing khakis, and they have a more feminine cut - I've been looking for something like this for months

Ili, I have never stolen a thing in my life, but "baby" it's a good thing I do not know where you live because your shoe collection would be mine! Love the clothes & other accessories too! Actually, where did you get the red dress as I really like it and need a new one? Thanks!

LOL oh thanks, southernflirt! you're very kind! the "berry" color linen dress is from Zara, and at a great price! unfortunately they don't have online shopping, but they may have a store in your vicinity. it was the first time i went to either Zara or Mango and i was immediately smitten. Mango does have online shopping though, in case you're interested~ signed Ili the Enabler

I don't know about anywhere else, but the Burlington Coat factory near me is bursting with some really nice stuff at ridiculously low prices. I am getting Larry Levine wide leg pants for $12.99. But I think my favorite recent purchase was at Macy's when I got this trench jacket for $17.99 at my local Macy's with an additional 10% off for using my Macy's card. I just went over to the Macy's site and there are pages of clearance items for $9.99. It's unbelievable! I am really having to control myself, LOL!

Hi girls - sounds like all of you have been scoring some great new pieces in this lovely economy. For me, I finally bought what I wanted since last winter. It's a pair of Apepazza wedge sandals - shown here on anthro's site: wedgeI paid half for them so I'm pleased. Sorry I've been m.i.a. for so long

ilibaby - LOVE that red dress! And the green shoes, and the gold sandals! I love how you go so bold with your accessories. Being short, big upstairs, and otherwise small featured, I always feel uncomfortable with larger/bolder pieces. Gives me the feeling of a little girl playing dress-up. But you do it soooo beautifully!!! Today I bought the most comfortable leopard skin wedge ever! At Nordstrom's. I can wear them with shorts, capris, trousers, jeans, skirts... Hehe, can't beat that versatility! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/kindermouse/wntw...8_08leopardwedge.jpg

yayy for kindermouse! i like a shoe i can wear with more than one type of clothing. *thanks for your nice compliment*. let me tell you, once you get those childhood voices/baggage out of your head you will see yourself in a brand new light! i used to have a very bland yawn wardrobe of white, black and khaki, brown and black shoes. then one day i saw little salma hayek, 5'2", totally owning the "i'm short and stacked" look with color and bold hair, accesories and i had an AHA! moment. why can't i do that myself with my own perimeters? it opened a new world of doing makeup, hair, heels, clothing and color. i realized i was trying to hide among the crowd, and having been a part of several fashion blogs i can assure you, i have come to the conclusion many of us are trying to hide behind something for one reason or another: too busty, no bust, too tall, too short, too curvy, too skinny. it doesn't matter the reason. the grass is always greener. i realize my grass just needed a bit of fertilizing to make it more green and colorful! enjoy your new shoes, enjoy exploring and thinking outside of the box! it is so worth it! if you like it on me, you'll like it on you. it'll mean you're drawn to color or bold. go for it, take photos and let that tell you the truth. have a marvelous day! Ili

Ili, I love the way you state it - grass just needing more fertilizer! Great metaphor. I have been s l o w l y branching out into more color, more largish (hehe) pieces, and more clothing/jewelry that would previously have been out of my comfort zone. Sure wish I had more money! I could be dangerous if I did! lol Thanks, Ili.
