NEW! Curtis' Favorite Foods Countdown

We all have our favorite comfort foods. But how often do we get to find out what a master chef likes to nibble on? We grabbed some time with Curtis Stone and asked him what grub excites him most.

I haven't had rabbit, but I have had veal, which some have said is similar to it and also on his list. Not that bad, but after I took a bite my mom teased and said that I ate Bambie's Aunt, so there you go! ^^;

Rabbit is actually pretty good. I've only had it once, when I was younger and my parents didn't tell me what it was until after I ate it. I don't remember much about it, but that I was horrified that I liked it.

I have had rabbit also when I was in my early teens (very long time ago). A relative whom is a very good cook, made rabbit in white wine and seasonings and it was tender and delicious. I have never forgotten it. Of course I have never tried to cook one myself - someday!! Smile

Am I the only one who's just a little bit disappointed that he didn't have Cheetos and beer on his list? LOL

I had to look up what foie gras was and I don't think I could eat it considering what they do to the birds to get it. Frown

Liessa-schwarz. Just a quick note. Veal, is meat from a calf, not a deer. you may be thinking of venison.

I like Curtis's favorite choices too. Some I haven't tried yet. Rabbit meat tastes like chicken breast. I've made rabbit and dumplings, rabbit frajitas,etc... It is a very lean meat so it needs to be cooked with a bit of oil, or it tends to be tough. Marinating tenderizers rabbit meat nicely. Give it a whirl sometime.

Scallops are mollusks. They are seafood. If you haven't tried them, DO! Prepared in a wonderful butter, lemon, and white wine with fresh herbs sauce. Ahhh, My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Well, I guess that more than answer your question.

I guess it depends on what sort of foods you grow up with and what you are willing to try. Just think Beef in India is considered sacred and the thought of drinking the milk , eating cheese, or the meat is TABOO. As for me , I'm a regular at McDonald's and the Golden Corral. Razz

Cook rabbit? Ewww!! it taste awful. Bear meat doesn't comes in tasty either. I'd rather to stick a regular meat than the wild animal except for goose, goose are delicious.

rabbit is good, and does taste alot like chicken. lots of people don't like wild game i think because they had it prepared by someone who really doesn't know how to treat it. It needs to have time for the muscles to release the lactic acid that was built up during the "fight and flight" of the hunt. this is what gives the meat it's "gamey" taste that most people don't like. if the meat is prepared and cooked properly, most wild game meats have such a good flavor you wouldn't ever go back to the hormone induced meat you get in the stores.

MadOn Curtis's favorite foods countdown I couldn't beleive my eyes when he mentionned the foie gras..does anybody know how foie gras is made? Well let me tell ya! These poor ducks are force fed some fatty mush that make them sick and their livers become diseased till somebody chops off their heads, harvests the diseased livers and make foie gras which litterely means fatty liver. Sounds yummy Eek CURTIS! GET WITH THE TIMES!

I agree with frenchie42. Foie gras equals animal suffering BIG TIME. Down with foie gras! There are so many other wonderful things to eat that f.g. really isn't necessary neither missable nor excusable. Ciao.

Punky, he did say he liked his lobster with a nice cold beer! He's Australian- he probably didn't put beer on the list, because that would be like saying he liked water. Its a given. Wink
